Patrita (Golden) Vottis

                 1943 - 2021

Patrita Vottis (Golden), 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She will reunite with her brother Bobby, her son Michael, and grandson Dominick. Patti was born in Schenectady to Robert E. and Sarah Golden on August 12, 1943. She graduated from Linton High School and married Patrick Vottis. They were happily married for 59 years. Together they raised five children. Patti volunteered her time and talents for all that the kids endeavored. She volunteered at the school, church, town pool, little league, and gymnastics. If the kids were in it, she was in it too. Patti worked for many years in the accounting offices of the Galesi Group and LedFoot Express where she helped to support the family and made many friends. As her kids grew she moved into her next role as "world's greatest Grama" with passion and grace. She loved going to garage sales and shopping for that next perfect addition to her toy collection (at a steep bargain). Patti created "Grama Camp" for the grandkids to come to her house and make a beautiful mess baking, doing arts and crafts, or playing Polly Pockets. Her great joy was to have the kids hang out at the pool all day and then have a meal out back after a long day of swimming. Her family was her passion and she collected and compiled many photo albums. She loved family history and spent countless hours researching family genealogy. She also enjoyed planting, gardening, and a weekly bridge game which brought her great joy and great friends. She remained with the same bridge group for nearly forty years, right up until her health would no longer permit. Patti, Mom, Grama, will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her husband Patrick, sons Michael (D) (Theresa), Guy (Sue), Tim (Moria), and Peter (Vanessa), daughter Mary (Wayne), niece Mckenzie (Chris), and many wonderful grandchildren; Christina, Amanda, Melissa, Danny, Hanna, Brianna, Emily, Lauren, Mikayla, Patrick, Makayla, Petey, Liza, Tessa, Dominick (D), Roman, and two great-grandchildren, Josephine and Nora. Friends and family may call Friday, April 16, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Service to be held Saturday, April 17, at 10:00 am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd, Schenectady NY. I remember being in Mr. Solomon's English 12 class with Patrita (among others), and she was a brilliant writer and thinker. It looks as though she had a full, happy life filled with family and laughter.  Sending comfort to her family.

Pat shared home-room with me.  She was very outgoing and helpful to me in my efforts to learn the English language.  May her memory endure for a blessing.  Lorie Clayton - AKA Hannelore Herrmann.

Pat and I grew up in the same neighborhood and were together frequently.  Much later we found each other again, talked on the telephone especially about our children.  We shared my loss of my two daughters and at the time she was heartbroken upon Michael's illness.  We both cried.  She is happily reunited with Michael and leaves behind her love and memories.  Rest in peace my friend.
