Glenn R. Harrison

1943 - 2019

Harrison, Glenn R. 76 of Glenville, beloved husband of Kathleen Harrison (Gould), passed away peacefully in Glenville on June 29, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at his home. 

He was born January 3, 1943 in Schenectady, NY to Hazel and Louis Harrison. He married his high school sweetheart on July 29, 1963. 

Glenn attended the former Linton High School in Schenectady and graduated from the State University at Cobleskill in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration. Throughout high school and college, Glenn loved performing as a drummer in the band The Bel Aires. 

Glenn worked for 30 years as the Contract and Procurement Administrator for NY State Unified Court System until his retirement in 2005. 

Glenn, appreciative of public service, served as a volunteer fire fighter with the Village of Delanson and as part-time Constable to the Town of Duanesburg. 

Upon retirement, Glenn enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild as well as pursuing fishing, golfing and traveling. 

Additionally, Glenn was a tour guide and an advocate for the restoration of the Destroyer Escort U.S.S Slater; currently docked in Albany, NY. 

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years Kathleen, his two children, Michele Stiffler and Michael (Bridget). Glenn was blessed with five grandchildren and one great grandchild; whom he loved dearly, Kevin Stiffler (Natalie Dustman), Kari Sheehan (Chris), Liam, Alex and Ayden Harrison and Graham Stiffler Dustman. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Bernard and William and several nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours to remember his life will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on July 5th from 3:00 -6:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. 

Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Glenn’s name to the St. Jude’s Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project or the Animal Protective Foundation (APF).
