After a late graduation, I attended a small private electronics school in Madison. After the first year, interest was diminishing as I was getting more involved with PC's. I changed jobs often, just not finding the place I really wanted to be.
Somewhere between 1998 and 2000, while working at one of the local bowling centers, the owner was interested in starting karaoke. I told her I was interested in setting it up and running it. After about 2 years, a fellow KJ that I had never met was talking about running his karaoke with a computer. I told him I had tried to convince the bowling centers owner to do the same but was not interested. Over the next few meeting that we had, we decided to join up and create a new mobile DJ/KJ business. Digital X-treme Karaoke was born.
In 2003, I stumbled across a web site containing a strange new puzzle I had never seen before.
www.griddlers.net
I started playing around with them, got hooked and drew the attention of the owners of the site with the puzzles I had been creating. I became involved with the site to help create new pages, update the old and all around make it an easier site to navigate and use.
On Sep 2 2005 the site was holding its first International Meeting of its owners, admins and regular members in Delft, Netherlands. The site paid for the flight tickets for me, and I kicked in the rest to extend my vacation to Tel Aviv, Israel (1 owner lives there). While staying in a hostel in Amsterdam (yes, a few of us visited the red light district. It's not exactly as its always described), we would drive back and forth to Delft.
Not looking for anything more than some R&R and meeting the faces of those I have talked to almost every day for 2 years, I was happily surprised to meet my future wife. We talked every day, even while i was in Tel Aviv for a week. Upon returning home, we bought web cams and talked every day.
Sometime in Jan 2006, I finally decided that I was moving to Slovakia (where she resides).
We married Sep 29 2007.
Our son was born Feb 18 2009.
