A celebration of life for Curtis L. Harris will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate.

Curtis passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at his home.

 

Curtis was born July 20, 1960, in David City to Lewallen and Evelyn (Kurrelmeyer) Harris. He grew up in Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler Central High School.

Curtis drove truck for many years. Known to many with the CB handle “Snake.” He was currently employed by Platte Valley Truck and Trailer. Curtis had a love for family time, especially with his three beautiful granddaughters. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping, fishing, tractor pulls, tinkering in the garage and gardening. And walks with his dog at Johnson Lake.

 

Curtis leaves behind his wife, Rebecca Roberts Harris; sons, Nathan (Courtney) Harris, Calista and Caitlyn of Hastings, Kevin (Kristan) Harris and Kinna of North Bend; stepson, Nate Roberts; his beloved pet, Frankie; sisters, Viola (Tom) Bender and Lilas Harris of Schuyler; mother-in-law, Jean Wurz; and lifelong friend, Tom (Jody) Eller.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; father-in-law, Robert Wurz; life mentor and father figure, Paul Tulleberg; and many other family and friends.

Memorials may be sent to the family or Saint Jude’s Research Hospital for Children.
