SCHUYLER — James D. Spale, 51, of Schuyler, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Schuyler.

Visitation will be held from noon-8 p.m. Tuesday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel with a parish rosary at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9-10:15 a.m. at the North Chapel.

Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.

James was born on April 5, 1960, in Schuyler to Richard A. and Dorothy (Buresh) Spale. He attended Dist. 8 and Dist. 1 Richland schools and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1978. He loved farming and enjoyed hunting, fishing and working crossword puzzles.

James is survived by his parents, Richard and Dorothy Spale, of Schuyler, brother, Randal (Martha) Spale of Lenexa, KS; sisters, Janine (Guy) Pelsor of Lincoln, Denise (Michael) Szatko of Lincoln, Valerie Spale of Lincoln, Michele (Steve) Buroker of Bennington; 7 nieces, 1 nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Schuyler Public Library Building Fund, Masses or Donor's Choice.
