Richard “Rick” Eugene Keil

Rick Keil passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after a 5-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Rick was born May 15, 1947 in Scottsbluff to Leland and Shirley (Hill) Keil.  He attended schools in the Scottsbluff area.

Rick married Shirley Lock of Wheatland, WY on December 23, 1972 and have four sons and four daughters. 

Rick and Shirley brought to reality Rick’s dream of becoming a lifelong cowboy and moving to Wyoming to ranch.  He was known for his love of horses, fine-tuning his skill to train them and was considered one of the best trainers in the area as well as a skilled carpenter.

Rick is survived by his wife, Shirley, his sons Matthew (Amber) of Wheatland, Mark (Vicki) of Casper, Luke (Tonya) of Casper, Jon (Molly) of Buffalo, daughters, Traci, Jill, Bobbie and Jane, 15 grandchildren and sisters Kathi (Larry) Belford and Julia (Andrew) Bucy of Nebraska.  Rick is also survived by sisters-in-law Sharon (David) Oman and Jean Lock, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Clifford and brother-in-law Normal Lock.
