Edward Dean Palser VIEW PROFILE

KEARNEY — Edward “Dean” Palser, 62, formerly of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Dean was born April 21, 1947, in Julesburg, Colo. to George and Darlene (Jones) Palser. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1965 and received his bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College in 1970. On April 28, 1966, he married Barbara Krueger in Scottsbluff. He was a teacher and football, golf and track coach in Scottsbluff for 26 years. After retiring from teaching and moving to Kearney, Dean worked as a field appraiser for the Buffalo County Assessor until his death.

He was a member of Northfield Church in Gering and New Life Assembly in Kearney. Dean sang in the choir at both churches. In his free time, he loved golfing, riding his Harley with his son and traveling to visit his daughter and her family. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughters in their activities and refereed high school basketball and volleyball games for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Kearney; son, Jeffrey Palser and wife Jennifer of Kearney; daughter, Wendy Marsteller and husband Gary of Lansing, Kan.; granddaughters, Haylee and Hannah Marsteller of Lansing, Kan. and Addison and Claire Palser of Kearney; sister, Darla Schaneman and husband Mark of Windsor, Colo.; brothers, Ray Palser and wife Marcia of Scottsbluff, and Mark Palser and wife Liz of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
