Hey Casey girl...looked at your profile pictures and you look exactly as I remember you (minus the white painter pants and rugby shirt) Hey, do you remember the name of that girl who was a year ahead of us and we hung out with. i remember practicing disco dancing with her. I also remember you and her dressed up as an animal together one Halloween. An ass perhaps??...

OMG! Now I remember you Bernina! Sorry I'm a little slow. When someone mentioned the float, the light went on. I so remember it in your yard and how awesome it was.
See you soon!

Hey Cayce,
My husband doesn't get it either. He has never attended his Mesa High reunions. He won't even come with me. I think it's best anyway. Now I won't have to worry about if he's bored.

Lisa Z. I KNOW! My husband is a quiet guy, that's probably why he's stuck with me cuz if only one of us can get a word in edgewise it's going to be me.

Lisa S. AN ASS!!! What are you saying? I don't remember dressing as an animal for Halloween, but i'm not saying it didn't happen. Are you talking about my buddy Colleen? She was quite the disco dancer in her day.

Thanks Marc! I'm still short but not so small and definitely not fast. But i have a husband who's pretty tough, he could take Grant and Kevin for me. Where were my darn brothers when I needed them back then?

Cayce...YES Colleen!!! and yes you guys did dress up in a two part animal outfit. One of you as the head and one of you as the back-end. I remember walking around the drama department with you guys and we were trying to fit you two in the bathroom so we could have a smoke.

Cayce Evans (Newton)

OH LORD. I don't remember the animal costume at all. But i'm sure i needed a smoke. Thank goodness came to my senses and stopped smoking in 1980! Waited until 1983 to give up drinking for good. I have no vices... sigh, not a bad girl anymore.

Colleen Davis and I stayed friends until last year when she got mad at me and now won't speak to me. Back in high school.

Wow, I hadn't checked since Tuesday late afternoon, and you guys went a page and a half! It was good to see Lisa & Leah found. I read names I hadn't thought about in years, and seem so familar to me. So many of you still in the Valley, I left a year after graduation and have never lived there since. What a service this committee has done for us. Thanks

Life's good Shane.
Hey, I remember the crazy times being in your Dads Scout Troop. That clunker bus we bought off Judson that we converted into a rolling poker party and drove to California. We had a plastic jug mounted on the dash with a hose running to the oil cap. Every half hour we would have to pour a quart in.

Not sure what merit badge we earned that trip but I'm sure we did.

We built a canoe in your garage as well.

Good times in that old bus. Didn't we end up just ditching it up on the rim ?

You guys are making me itch for another bike, it's been a while since I sold my CR500.

Bernina, I was a strawberry blonde, does that count in the red head search?

I can't believe how much time I have spent on here just checking out what people are doing now. I have talked to some people I haven't seen since we graduated its great. I really like the way this is set up and thank the committee for thinking of it. I'm just amazed at what people have been up to. I also really enjoy checking out the pictures.

MARC! You are a tatoo artist? My daughter Ashley thought it would be cool to be a tatoo artist like on LA Ink until I told her she'd have to touch big hairy smelly disgusting people too, not just cool hip hotties. LOL She has basically ruled out any profession that involves touching hairy and/or smelly people; massage therapist, manicurist, tatoo artist, etc...

FIRST I SHOULD SAY CAYCE IM NOT ONE OF THE ARTIST I CAN TRACE AND CREATE ALTHOUGH I AM A PARTNER AND A CLIENT MORE OFTEN THE LATER OF THE TWO AS FAR AS A JOB ALL CLIENTS MUST HAVE THEIR TATTOOED AREA SHAVED BEFORE STARTING ON THEM TELL THAT TO YOUR DAUGHTER

Hey Bernina,
I went to Sky Y Camp in 7th grade. Tried to smoke pine needles. It didn't work out to well for me, the pine needles I mean.

Bernina. Pretty much I did my best to go un-noticed. Had that horrible stick strait baby fine hair. I was so envious of those beautiful girls with brown hair that had some curl to it. But my red hair got Cal's interest, he said later that he had never met a girl with red hair and brown eyes. His mom so did not like me at first( she way loves me now). The day after the wedding she asked me what dye I used on my hair. LOL

Hey Bernina - welcome back to the message forum!
Pegi - you would be one of the carrot tops too...I think Bernina is right...I can only come up with the 3 of you from grade school! Now people are paying big money to get that beautiful red color!

03/26/09 12:53 PM #305

Margaret (Pegi) Knight (Nelson)

I probably appeared more blond than red.

One of my theories in life is that it is okay to ever dye your hair a color God made it at one time. As I got older, boring brown started sneaking into my hair. I was just re-vitalizing back to the color of my youth: Strawberry Blond. One day I decided it was just a bit "too" much, so I went one knotch darker. I had crossed over some magic "no fly zone" with hair color. The color I got had ASH in it. ASH + RED = GRAY. Yep. I was 32 and as gray as my old mother. Spent 4 hours the next day at a salon with a color wiz going back to my fairly natural color. That was 1993, I haven't dyed my hair since.

Pegi, You are so funny. I had a hair disaster in 1990. My hair was bleached blonde and really long. I wanted to try to get back closer to my natural color. It was awful - ashy, weird spots - clumpy dark spots. I ended up having to have it stripped and re-colored twice, ended up peroxide blonde and they cut 12" off because it was so damaged.

Now it's short anyway - but i was devastated at the time.
