Hey, cool, yeah, Wallace & Ladmo, I went to their 20th anniversary show at Legend City in 1974 with Jon Nimtz. Hubcap and the Wheels and the whole crew of Pat McMahon characters were there. Funny because my first concert was Alice Cooper ("Welcome to my Nightmare") at Veteran's Memorial the year after and Captain Super introduced him ("I don't know about this Alice Cooper, but whoever SHE is...) It was a fitting entertainment transition. Any other first concert stories out there?

Hey Hogie- My first was The Captain and Tennille with Chris Mangine. We had a weekend night off from Macayo's and no marching band stuff so hit the state fair.

The best concerts I ever went to were Pink Floyd in Mexico City. Thousands singing "The Wall" and Mercedes Sosa's return to Argentina after the military junta was kicked out. Was like a huge emotional catharsis-never had seen so many people crying/laughing/celebrating at once.

Mimi- At Mohave- I think Phil, Jeff Spielman, John Henley and David Grahmlich were always the tall ones

Yes Shane, who could forget Wallace and Ladmo. My dad actually worked at KPHO as a newcaster and knew them and Pat McMahon very well. I was not much for tv, but my brother Kirk watched them religiously. I was a little envious of the kids who got the Ladmo bags however!

How about Legend City? I remember going and riding the rides over and over again. Mary Scheer and I stayed on one of the rides for it seemed like an hour when the park was dead and only a few people were getting on.

Legend City... right next to Phoenix MUni Stadium. Would go to LC right after Giants games in the summer. I worked with Pat McMahon for several years at KTAR... Nice guy...He and his wife threw my wife a baby shower for our oldest daughter.

First concerts? I remember mine. Kiss at Tempe stadium with Ted Nugent, Bob Segar, & Montrose. I'm guessing around 75? Went with Dan Duffy and Pete Quad. Wow seems like yesterday.

If it's the Kiss Concert where it was windy and started raining, I was there too. Went with Rich Baxter and I was freaking out because of all the electrical effects going on in a storm!

Legend City used to have concerts too. Saw Pat Benatar there. All the guys were taking whizzes along the walkway cause their bathroom situation sucked. That was probably around 1980/81 after the actual amusement park had shut down, but they still had concerts in the open field next to it. First time I saw people "going at it" in front of hundreds was at that concert too. Did any of you guys go to the "Star is Born" concert at ASU? Peter Frampton, Santana etc. That concert was crazy.

Do we remember WALLACE AND LADMO!!! I do! I remember seeing them at Legend City on the weekend.

My husband and I saw them on one of our first dates at Legend City. Rick's friend was on the chair swing ride and puked on the crowd.

We sat on the hill over by the Lost Dutcheman's area and I sat in a red ant hill, the ants went right up my shorts. I tore out of there to the bathroom pulling my shorts off as I ran. I still can't beleive Rick called again! We had some interesting dates.

Remember how the Ladmo Bags were big shopping bags and then years later they were a crumby little lunch bag! They always always included Clover Club potato chips.

Thanks to all you Pueblo classmates who made it to the "impromptu" happy hour last night. It was great to see you and hear the stories of the last 30+ years. Let's do it again soon!

Lisa S - I was at the "Star Is Born" concert. I remember every second of it. I was probably the only Babs fan in the crowd and when she sang I managed to push my way to the front, through all of the booing going on screaming for her to get off the stage. Remember when she told the crowd to 'f - off? That was a wild concert. The reviews in the paper the next day said we left a bathtub ring around the stadium...

I remember going to see KISS. The crowd was insane because they wouldn't open the gates and someone threw a beer bottle and hit my cousin Timmy in the head - my brother, David ended up having to leave to take Timmy to the emergency room and never got to see the concert.

Ah yes, the downsizing of the Ladmo Bag. One of the great indignities we have had to suffer in AZ since high school. That and the infamous Buckwheat imposter. Remember that guy from Tempe who went on a nationally televised news magazine show claiming he was the original Buckwheat until the surviving Our Gang/Little Rascals members said no flippin' way! He used to hang out at Casey Moore's and everyone called him Buckwheat so he was happy even after his 15 minutes of fame went down in flames.

Hey girls,

Do you remember when they passed a law allowing us to wear pants to school? I remember always having to wear shorts under my dresses so that I could play on the monkey bars and do flips on the other bars. I'm pretty sure that was just after Christmas in 4th grade. Somewhere I have a picture that was in the paper with me and I think Sandy Holloway, and Mrs. Harris and another teacher posing in our fashionable pant suits.

Wallace and Ladmo? Unforgettable. Especially if you heard Larry Golonka quoting "we got a Ladmo bag for our winner."

The other funny memory I have of Larry is when we both got swats from Mrs. Head. I went first and couldn't quit laughing. Which meant that I got about 9 of them until I finally faked coughing fit so I wouldn't laugh again. Larry fell on the floor head first after his first, and came up crying his eyes out. Once we were out the door, he was the one laughing his head off. I did not enjoy track practice that day. Coach Howell was merciless (surprise?!) when he learned why I was moving so stiffly. Ah, the fun of school days....

My first concert was Chicago at Big Surf. Still love their music. I though people were so kind to share thier cigaretts. That's right, home rolled smokes were passing them up and down the rows for who ever wanted to share.

I was at A Star is Born Concert...I love Babs. I don't remember alot of it, but I was there. It was freezing in the morning and as the sun came up they played the song "Here Comes the Sun".

Wallace and Ladmo - I always wanted a Ladmo Bag!
