Kim R. I went to the Star is Born Concert. I spent the night with a friend at the dorms at ASU and back then that was huge since we were in high school. Lisa Sanboeuf and a few others met us there. I love Babs as well, still have some old CDs.

Mimi,

I was going to write about the underage driving incident, but thought we were spending more time on Mohave memories than Saguaro. That was Mike Tankersley and he showed up at school over by the playground on Ditch Day before we headed to Big Surf. I still can't believe he did that! I actually ran into him my Freshman year at UofA. I went to a frat party at the Frat he pledged and I was shocked to see him, and him me. I told him I thought he was probably dead, and that I never thought he would have graduated high school, let alone make it to college. He cleaned up nicely, and I worked with his sister several years ago, and at the time he was doing well. Who knows where he is now. I think I remember he was in Texas.

That ride you speak of is the one that we spent all our time on! I must have been insane to go on that thing over and over again. Up until a few years ago, I still enjoyed going on all the rides at Disneyland etc. I'm not at sure these days. Somewhere along the line I think the fear factor set in. I think it was when I started worrying about what could happen to my kids. The dreaded "what if?!!!".

I'm not sure what happened to Sandy. I haven't thought about her since reliving all those childhood memories over that past week since logging into the site. I hope that she is doing well wherever she is.

And Mike was always a little rebel, but in a "cool" way!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
From my "hellish trip". (see profile)

I leave for three days and the conversation has drifted to "Wallace and Ladmo".

Many of you don't know this ( but then how could you)

Every meal served in the Great State of Arizona, by the Department Of Corrections (DOC) in a paper sack, from Tent City, all the way to Florence. It referred to as a "Ladmo Bag".

Ho..Ho...Hah..Hah..Pee..Pee...Kah..kah!

Bernina, I read that you "disappeared" from the forum for a few days. Funny how we "both"...went missing, at the same time.
Remember when "Jerry Foster" landed his helicopter in the school yard...and his weed fell out of his jacket!

Mimi,

I used to love field day. I even have some ribbons in my scrap book. I set the school record for high jump in 7th grade. I still have my red PE shirt with my Mohave and Presidential Physical Fitness badges. If only I could be so fit now!

I would probably kill myself now if I even thought about attempting to do high jump. I also liked recess when we could check balls and other stuff out to play with.

Do you remember the wall on the outside of the cafeteria where we could play handball, and playing dodge ball against the classrooms by the field? Now kids aren't even allowed to play dodge ball, because it's unsafe and kids shouldn't be singled out!

How about the annual Halloween carnival?

Navijo until they kicked me OUT. then Mohave in the 8th grade.

I remember my mom signing a permission slip to allow using the paddle. And I remember one poor sole getting the teacher so frustrated (can't remember who you were), that she took him outside the classroom as we all crowded around the window to watch him get the paddle. I think it was Mrs. Harris, because I remember she was really upset about the incident when she returned to the classroom.

I also remember the Strike when Mrs. Harris asked a couple of us to stir up trouble inside the classroom. I had left the window cracked before lunchtime, which we snuck into the room during lunch and overturned tables and wrote on the blackboard, and while we were in the midst of destruction, the principal and the sub returned. The sub apparently was unable to lock the door before leaving for lunch and came back with the principal to help. Needless to say we got out of there very quickly.

Do you also remember someone breaking an egg on Mr. Frye's head during the strike also? I'm not sure who did that either.
