Mr. Foyle made a very big impression on many of us.

Yeah, I remember Mr. Foyle doing horizontal arm only push-ups on the desk my first day of classes after I moved to AZ the summer of '72. Certainly got my attention. He was sort of like the Jack Palance of grade school teachers. Mr. McCarthy was quite a character too with his immaculately clean Endusted blackboard and Boston accent.

Ha ha, Jeff! Jack Palance! That's perfect!!!

Wow, I am having a whole morning of memories. Kiva, Saguaro. I got married right out of high school and have been lost for years. Those were great teachers. I remember Mo. He had to be the favorite substitute teacher ever. At Kiva we would lose maybe 2-4 kids a year, and gain a like number. But for the most part, we went through grade school with the same pack of kids all 8 years. It was not like that for my kids. I tell my kids about the neat-freak Mr. McCarthy, and they can not believe it.

Happy Times.

I remember Eddie Ravenscroft.....smokes rolled up in his sleeve. What a hard ass! (8Th grade at Kiva)
I remember when he broke into the Library! He stacked all the books up in a pile,..then poured a few gallons of glue on them all.

I personally can relate to Ed.....we flunked every class we had. Ed went on to graduate ASU. (top of his class in mathematics)....I'm still stupid!

Remember when he climbed up to the top of the baseball field "light tower". The whole school was on the field yelling... "jump". All the teachers, pleading for him to come down. He took another hit of a joint, and told them to "ef" off! (talk about "Liable")

One brief note. I have been recently diagnosed with a condition that may, or may not determine, whether or not I can attend the reunion.I'm doing research to learn more about what options are available, to those with ADHD.(your prayers will be appreciated)

I know....."it was a shock to me also". :)

It was definitely my brother, Tim, who streaked. Kelly Dugan was the one who picked him up with his dirt bike. I can still remember them mapping out the path to run the day before. He's going to laugh when he hears it is being talked about after all these years!

Mr. B...whats for dinner on the 16th of May?

Mr. McCarthy....Francis I believe. Always remember his rant about returning your text books in proper condition, something about "fair, wear & tear". All said in that thick Boston accent. Mo Mosley was great, seemed like we sometimes had him for weeks.

Shirley Baker was my favorite at Saguaro. She signed my yearbook one year: To Reiffer. The next year it said Sid Cynic. I took Sp IV independent study with her senior year. All I had to do was show up about once a month. What a gift!

Marc, if I remember right you and I go all the way back to Kindergarten with Mrs. Morgan. Does the family still have the house on 69th?

I'm sick of hearing from all you Kiva-ites. Mohave Mavericks Rule!

Tracy Platt emailed me a copy of our 8th Grade Class photo. Trace - somehow we've got to figure out a way to post it here.

Mohave people - speak up these Kiva folks are taking over the message board.

Lisa Stephens, where are you when I need you?

Okay Tracy! I did it - uploaded the Mohave 8th Grade class into my profile. How did Russell Young get away with a Coors t-shirt?

Kiva Pyro
I was also one of the PYRO'S.
I thought I would keep the flames going by throughing dryed grass on some flames. Mr. Dean grabbed me by the back of my neck and took me into his office. I thought I was going to pee my pants. He gave me an option of getting swatts or detention. I chose detention for one week after school. Telling my parents was a different story.
