Cayce Evans (Newton)

Laura,
One year is long enough! You are representing the best Scottsdale Elem. School.

I was only there for 4 years. One of my most vivid memories of Mohave is running to class and coming around the corner and almost running into Holly Kaiser she put her hands out and accidentally stabbed me with a pencil. I had pencil lead in between my pinky and ring finger of my left hand for years. It has finally disappeared!

Who was with me when Mr. Dodsworth grabbed me by the hair after we trashed the art room when he disappeared for the entire hour?

Bern....that pic is "spooky"....can you spot me. ) third row up, far right...."right behind Sean Delaney".
I didn't even know Sean until my soph.year at SHS.
What a waste of a couple of years of a lot of "Hell Raising....not to mention the "gut busting laughs"..Sean and I have had a few)

That was pretty fun. I remember taking that picture, and we all had to hold still for ever it seemed. The VP exited the right side of the group while the photographer was scanning toward the left side of the group. So he was on both sides. I can't believe you still had that picture. :)

maybe not. It appears my memory could be slightly challenged.

I see you Berneenee!!! Now I remember you....I was only at Kiva for 8th grade. I think I was still playing with J.I.Joe's....while everyone was smoking pot way back by the fence! Zolan used to reek...I didn't know that smell until my soph. year. (the two Steve's smoked me out)
I was heavy hearted to see Roy Lyon....he was one of the few kids that weren't mean as hell to me.( some of the meanest girls that I have ever meet were in that pic. I later made love to many of them later in life! Trip for sure.

03/15/09 01:49 PM #116

Mona Stacy

I lit your hair on fire??? What were we doing? Since you did not hang in the back 40...it must of been science class or were you standing too close to the back stop when we tried to burn that down??? ROFL!!

03/15/09 02:30 PM #117

Robert Lacivita

Mona,
Thank God,

Apparently, you haven't called your attorney, in an attempt to put me on the "hook" for "slander".

(it's a joke people)

Mona....if you would have "invited me"...too the "back 40"......"I would have let you start my hair on fire."
:)

Robert Lacivita

Bernina....Bernina....

03/15/09 04:37 PM #121

I know Lisa Snodgrass, or I should say did. I haven't seen her in twenty years kinda like Cayce.

Cayce I think you should come for at least Saturday night!!

Susan,
I would definitely be there if I lived in Az, but I'm swamped right now with wedding season and my daughter, Ashley's graduation.

Thanks Lajunta for posting those photos - I had forgotten about my not-so-stylish striped shirts standing behind you in the 8th grade photo. Here is some fashion trivia for you all - see that orangish-yellow shirt that David Rose is wearing in the lower right of that same photo? That is one of a number of geniune KRIZ radio "Barf" shirts that I won and gave to him (how obscure is that?) I actually won a number of things dialing into KRIZ after school, and I had a bit of a reputation going with the DJs. I even asked one of them (John Sebastion) over for a Thanksgiving meal in '74. Remarkably, he accepted, and you would have thought that John Lennon was coming to dinner given the celebrity status we heaped upon this guy! Thanks again for the memory, and hoping to see you on Reunion Friday.

Come on Pueblo classmates, remember all those great teachers we had? Mr. Done with his way of answering your question with a question. His tiny Honda car that we picked up and put sideways in his parking space. The hip Mr. Anderson with those "groovy" boots. Or Mrs. "Sergeant" Freidman. Not to forget Mr. "G" when his shirt would come unbuttoned and expose his belly button to the class. I still remember the day in seventh grade when Mr. Myers grabbed me by my shirt collar and slammed me up against the moveable wall outside his class for talking too much. The whole class was dead silent when he brought me back in the room. Someone said it echoed throughout the seventh/eighth grade building. I had a new respect for him after that! Or Principal Bloom with his side burns and convertible Cadillac. I think he was secretly an Elvis impersonator.
The list goes on...............

These are great stories. I say bring 'em on from all of the different grade schools as well as Saguaro. Just to know these characters existed in the AZ educational system in the 1970s is enlighting and probably explains more than we actually care to know about why we turned out the way we did. Pay no attention to that involuntary twitch of mine...

OK, it's Mohave memory lane now folks. This is from Lisa S.'s profile comments I just left;

MOHAVE ELEMENTARTY FLASHBACK TIME!

Mr. Stanley was the shop teacher at Mohave. He always used to say, "I love you like my sons", and "I want that shop floor so clean you can eat off it"!!!

Wasn't Mrs. Huey the one that blasted down the Big Surf slide and blaster her top right off?? I guess at that age, who's looking at a persons face when that show happens??!!

Wasn't Mr. Reamer (name seems appropriate now) the one that used to "spock" kids like Star Trek's Mr. Spock did on the TV show? And remember he used to have a group of kids hold hands and have the end kids grab the wires from his hand-crank shock generator...??? You can't have fun like that anymore (legally)!

Anyone remember Mr. Smith in 5th grade Science class? Was anyone else there when Mr. Smith freaked that day when someone kept coughing during a movie and threw a chair? That guy was seriously disturbed!

Ahhh, memories!

It was Mrs. Boyce (sp?). What an eye opener............ I'll never forget Big Surf after that day. :-)

People,
I don't mean to throw L. Snodgrass.."under the bus"...I'm sure she is a wonderful person...(now).

Now that Bernina, has volunteered ...the Kendra "Qualude" story. It makes more sense to me now...a lot of the "mean girls" that I had run ins with at Kiva.....most likely.....were just trip'n on their parent's meds.

If, this is not the case.....Lisa, I owe you a "beat down".
