Nice Jeff. I saw a few familiar faces. Too bad it didn't have audio.

Thanks Pegi. Yes, it was a low-tech silent Super 8mm movie camera that I used. I tried to get the DVD transfer fellow to add Aerosmith's "Walk This Way" as a soundtrack to jazz it up, but he was concerned about copywrite issues. He said he had some elevator muzak that he could add, but that just wasn't going to cut it for the future class of '79 in my opinion so I figure everyone can add their own soundtrack.

Jeff - the video of all your classes is too funny!
That was fun to watch ~ thanks for sharing!!

Mrs. Shimmer was one of my favorite teachers.

Greg - luckily you found the ministry otherwise I am afraid that you may not be with us today! You were such the party animal! What an awesome path to choose! Amen!

Cayce Evans (Newton)

Jeff! Thanks for posting that. It was fun to watch. I noticed I was not in any of the video ~ either I wasn't in any of your classes or I was ditching all of them, hanging out at Coco's with Dana and Chickie, drinking coffee and pretending I was cool.

Bernina,
I refuse to think of you as a heathen. Spiritual, yes. Heathen, no.

I think you are communing with the Earth Goddess up there in the boondocks.

Laura Segal (Stovitz)

Who was that woman from Alabama or wherever in the South that taught (or tried unsuccessfully to teach) us Algebra in 8th grade at Mohave?

03/18/09 01:15 PM #165

Jeff Hoganson

Hi Cayce! Yeah, I don't think you were in any of my classes sophmore year when I shot that footage. I recall you were in my freshman Spanish class, and I even remember having a tourista photo of you, me and Debbie Sullivan in La Caverna in Nogales on a field trip that the class took, however, that photo is long lost.

OK, my turn... I am pretty much in the ministry category. Would have to be one of the BIG surprises. And Mohave grad. But I won't make it to the reunion unless it's online. Busy getting married and honeymooning that month.

Margaret (Pegi) Knight (Nelson)

Well, Andy, it is good to have priorities. My daughter is getting married 4 weeks before the reunion, and I am 1400 miles away, so I understand. Glad to see so many have found Faith. Couldn't imagine having raised my kids and survived without it.

We talk about all these fun memories. My son was run over by a homecoming float (1997) and broke some bones in his foot. To record in the 70+ years of Kennewick High School he is the only person to have been run over by a homecoming float. Won't hat be fun years to come at a reunion? LOL

To Laura --

Her name was Edna Hall. She will always be embedded in my memory from this song set to a Disney classic (by Mark Montourri and Ken Norman???):

B-I-D
N-E-R
B-L-I-M-P

Bidner Blimp (Edna Hall)
Bidner Blimp (Edna Hall)
Forever let us wave our banners high (high) high...

Hey there Andy, sorry to hear that you will not be making the reunion in person, but we can do it online!

Best of wishes to you and your Bride!!

Oh my gosh! Edna Hall!!!! It's all coming back to me now. Ugh

Jeff,
I remember the freshman trip to Nogales!! Why wouldn't you save that special picture of us Jeff? I'm hurt. That was the first time I ever had tacos with potatoes in them. In retrospect, i can't believe we bought stuff from the vendors on the street and actually ate it.

I can't believe our teachers let a busload of whimpy little Scottsdale kids loose in MEXICO!!!

Jeff Hoganson

Well, somewhere along the way it got misplaced. I think we also got suckered into one of those "sit on the mule" street photos. BTW, I just remembered that Mark Christianson was the fourth who was hanging out with us that day.

In my attempt..to "tone it down a notch"....here's a little bit of trivia.

As the "official bouncer" for the band "Ice", I recall a gig played at Judson School..every time I hear the song "Break Out" (Thin Lizzy-The Best of) I'm immediately drawn back to that night! (love to drive to that one) Tony Alosi was on fire!!!

Q: What two songs did the "Two Steve's".. Tracy, and Danny Wexler belt out at Kiva 8th Grade Talent Show?

Q:What song did the boy's end the 79' Extravaganza Show
with?

BUELLER.......BUELLER........

03/18/09 11:11 PM #174

Jeff Hoganson

Robert, I only remember them singing Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love". The flashpots were a nice touch too. Pretty darned advanced for an 8th grade talent show I remember thinking at the time. No wonder they won it hands down.

Andy McClure

Yes Mr Stanley and Mrs Hall were legendary!! I remember Mrs. Hall would grab a guys arm and try to shake some sence into them... Sadly she ended up shaking her self most of the time.

Cayce... thanks for speaking up. It is interesting how several from the class have gone into some sort of ministry.

The song they closed the '79 Extravaganza was "Two Tickets to Paradise"

Robert Lacivita

You are correct sir......Jeff, does "Johnny B. Good" ring a bell?

03/19/09 01:21 AM #178

Jeff Hoganson

Wow, that was it, thanks Robert! You are in command of the "Way Back" machine tonight.

03/19/09 01:11 PM #179

Cayce Evans (Newton)

Bernina from BFE you are a hoot.

03/19/09 01:34 PM #180

Margaret (Pegi) Knight (Nelson)

Bernina, where is this farm of yours in the state? The town name doesn't ring a bell. :)

03/19/09 03:45 PM #181

Robert ~ your memory amazes me...I remember them playing, but I could have never remembered a song...unless they would have played a Bobby Sherman song LOL!! I was not the heavy rocker girl and still cannot remember names of artist much less songs...I cannot do trivia...I rearely come up with the right answers!
