Walter Fekula: Grand Charity Event
Posted Saturday, September 8, 2012 09:31 AM

Walter Fekula again announces events to raise funds for Russian orphans. Walter has for several years managed the annual Petrushka Ball, a grand high style, high spirits (take that as you will) event for the  benefit of Russia's orphans. (And I guarantee from my own experience that these orphans are many and often live in severe conditions.)

Dear friends,

Our boat party , Petroushka on the Hudson, (or “Vodka on the Lodka” if you prefer), is always a fun party. You should do everything you can to attend. Make sure you arrive early as the boat sails promptly at 7:00 PM. There will be lots of attractive, jovial people and great music, food and wine and spirits to whet all appetites. Three decks, each with a bar, to dance or view our incomparable Manhattan skyline.

Tickets are priced at below cost for those under 35.

Parking is available at World Yacht- $35.

The net proceeds from the 9th Petroushka on the Hudson will be directed towards the Russian Children's Welfare Society's (RCWS) charitable programs.

Founded in 1926, the Russian Children's Welfare Society (RCWS) is dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged Russian children. RCWS was established to assist Russian children and families who emigrated to the West.  Over the last 15 years, we have refocused our attention on the children and children's organizations in Russia.

Among the RCWS current projects are educational scholarships for orphans, medical treatment for children with severe facial deformities, assistance to orphanages, a New Year's party in Moscow for over 1,000 orphans and other projects. At present, RCWS awards scholarships to 36 students in Pskov, Yaroslavl, Moscow and Velikiy Novgorod regions.

Last year, in collaboration with the Russian Aid Foundation and the Moscow Center for Maxillofacial Surgery, we have changed the lives of 131 children with severe facial deformities. With your help, we hope to help even more children this year.

The Russian Children's Welfare Society is a

US nonprofit charity with 501 (c) (3) status.

All contributions are tax deductible.
