In part of Mr. Allen's letter he refers to something I must have said about Richie Loftus being in trouble. I don't remember what that trouble was, but in a letter that my mother wrote to me in the summer of 1955 while I was working in South Dakota, she too refers to Richie being in trouble.

[July 5, 1955] "From what we hear Richie and Duffy received a suspended sentence.  The cops are dispersing the boys on the corner again.  It sure is a shame as they don’t know where to spend these hot evenings."
