CHRISTMAS 2010

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our friends

Another year has come and gone, and all too quickly we note.  Irene and I hope you have experienced   great happiness and abundant successes this past year.  We traveled a great deal this year starting with a southern vacation in January.  We toured Savannah and then visited with friends in Jacksonville, Fort Myers and St Petersburg.  It was then on to Miami for a very “chilly” Bahamas Cruise-Bathing suits and suntan lotion were definitely not required this year.  Following the cruise we spent a week in Orlando visiting EPCOT etc.  The high light of the trip was Jim’s stock car drive at the Richard Petty Race Experience where he completed 8 laps on the tri-oval track achieving a top speed of 124 MPH. This however was topped by Irene’s ride along run at 140 MPH.

February entailed trips to Long Island and the Hudson valley for baptisms for Jim’s niece and nephew’s new additions. March found us returning to Long island for Jim’s mother’s 95 Birthday. We are happy to report Mom is in excellent health and is still DRIVING.  April took us back to Virginia Beach for a visit with Irene’s sister and then on to our time share week at Kitty Hawk, NC. We returned home in mid-May for a summer of  golfing  and boating filling. July found Jim back in stock cars with  “The McKinley Challenge Cup Race” July 4 at New Hampshire Speedway.  Younger brother Pete, his son and son-in law all drove cars and all fell victim to Jims lead footed run of 114 MPH.  It was a great family event culminating in an awards ceremony and a great lobster feast accompanied by a sea of beer and wine...

                            We will close out this wonderful year with the annual family Christmas gathering at Moms followed soon after by Christmas and the Holidays with Irene sister in Virginia Beach.

                            We extend an open invitation to all to visit us for a warm Maine welcome accompanied by multi lobster dinners on our deck.
