Ned McAdams died during the night of August 15. After a good recovery from open heart surgery to replace a faulty valve, he had been driving, working out, dining, and generally returning to an active life. A blood clot in the brain cut short his recovery and he underwent surgery but did not survive.
Ned had a distinguished but low key career in banking that began in Sea Cliff and Glen Head. Former employees in Glen Head remember him as a sympathetic and loveable boss.

I remember Ned from first grade at St. Boniface, as a quiet, hard-working, equable guy, always friendly and good humored. Over the years I ran into him here and there -- at the bank, on the train, in and around Sea Cliff and Glen Head. You couldn't miss recognition because Ned never seemed to change. Our last encounter was at reunion and he remained quintessentially Ned, an all around good person. Hearing he's gone is a shock; he will be missed.

I am in complete disbelieve that Ned has left us. My thoughts are with Maryanne and his children at this time.
I have known Ned since we were both about 3 years of age in Glenwood Landing. We went to school together for all of our schooling including college in Utica we were both in each other's wedding parties and I am god father to his daughter Eileen Ned will be missed so much by all.

Carole and Pete Muttee I still can not believe that Ned is not with us anymore, I have great memories of our school years...Ned and I started kindergarten together then onto St. Boniface and finally good old Sea Cliff High. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Maryann and her family

Ned will certainly be missed, however Maryanne preceded him by about 3 years.

Thanks to Nik for the correction about Ned McAdams' wife Maryanne. I recall that at our 55th reunion in Florida, Maryanne was in fragile health and Ned was very attentive and patient in making sure she was comfortable. Although I had to leave Florida before Ned and Maryanne hosted a lunch after the reunion, several classmates attended..jpg)

It was such a shock to learn of Ned's passing. He was such a gentleman and will be greatly missed.
May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

I attended Ned's wake last night in Oyster Bay and his funeral today at St Gertides church in Bayville followed by burial in Locust Valley cemetery. It was a very moving day for all. You could see the great love that his family has for Ned. I especially tried to spend time with Maryann It is very difficult for her as she has depended on Ned for the past years. After the funeral there was a reception at the Nassau Country Club where Ned was a past president. Brother Gene gave a talk on Ned's life adding a few laughs to the day. All of you that knew Ned as a golfer and may have played with him will be happy to know that he was buried with one of his golf clubs.
I feel so good that I was able to attend

Hi Fred, Nik and Wallace: Fred, it was great you were able to attend the celebration of Ned's rather significant life. I feel sure it was as impressive and lovely as was his life. However, I am pretty confused about whether Mary Ann is or isn't alive now. From Fred's comments, she was present at the wake, so alive. If this is so, I'd like to get an address to which we can address sympathy cards. Thanks, guys....Scott

Hi Classmates,
I apparently misled you regarding Maryann, I appologize for my error.
