After graduation I went to summer school in Honolulu to make up a credit, plus learn to surf, sail Hobi Cats and get acquainted with my birthplace. For the next two years I attended a trade school in Chicago, now known as The Art Institute, taking Fashion Design. Nineteen of us spent one summer on a guided bus tour of Europe. Returning to Seattle fall of 1967, I worked for Frederick & Nelsons until the following March when I enlisted in the Marine Corps. Boot Camp was in Parris Island, South Carolina. First duty station was San Diego, CA. Four months later I transferred to CINCPAC Fleet Headquarters, Camp Smith, Oahu, Hawaii where I spent the rest of my 2 1/2 years enlistment, met and became engaged to the love of my life, Stan. We were married in Seattle 9/71, moved to Silverdale, WA and found jobs with the Navy at Keyport, WA. Stan transferred to Nanaimo, BC, Canada where we lived for five and a half years, both children were born there. They transferred Stan back to Keyport in 1979, working at the testing range computer site on Dabob Bay, Quilcene. We bought five acres in Chimacum and built the house we live in now. I retired from Chimacum School District 2005.
