Melony Dodgens Smith

I am married to a wonderful man! Jamie & I have been married almost 22 years. He is a state licensed master plumber and has a small plumbing company. I drive a schoolbus for Franklin County and substitute teach for the middle school and high school. I am also going back to school since my kids are nearly grown to be a radiology tech. I would rather be a surgeon but I would probably die before I made it through school! I have 4 children, Lindsay 26, Josh 23, Elizabeth 16, & Hannah 14. I have 3 grandkids, Madison 7, Eston 2, & Gabriel 2. Jamie & I have worked in teen ministry for many years. It has been very rewarding as we have seen many grow up to serve the Lord.
I enjoy traveling (especially to tropical places!), gardening, quilting, crosstich, reading, entertaining, cooking, spending time w/ family & friends, and church. I am a 7 yr graduate of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship).

My favorite time in school was during my 11th & 12th grade years. I was in cosmetology at the vocational school with Mrs. Turk. We did so many fun things during our training there, including turning each others hair purple. Mrs. Turk & Mrs. Terry took us on a field trip to the Omni in Atlanta to see the sights, go to a hair show & go ice skating. It was so much fun! I also remember people Like Daphne Popham always being so friendly to everyone ( those of us who were not so popular) I was always greatful for that kindness because I felt like a misfit a lot of the time. Her christianity was evident.
