I began my post-bobcat adventure attending Tri-County Tech to become an accountant. Sadly, too many business math classes were skipped to pass the 1st semester, so I joined the army to save face with my dad. It wasn't a planned career, but was much needed. I started out as a Private "E -nothing" forward observer in Hawaii's light infantry division. Ten years later, I'd progressed to Staff Sergeant in the enlisted ranks with acceptance into warrant officer flight school.
My aviation career began as a scout pilot before qualifying for army fixed-wing aircraft. I’ve since flown various missions in various aircraft (helos, props and jets) to every continent. I was obviously having too much fun, so the army took me out of the cockpit for assignment at the Warrant Officer Career College.
At first I hated being away from operational missions while we were at war, but found the training environment rewarding (once I became comfortable with public speaking).
So after performing my duties at the the Staff and Senior staff course, I was made the Branch Chief for the Warrant Officer Candidate School. That's when it stopped being rewarding. The new Commandant and I had several loud disagreements over training standards. He wanted everyone to recycle until they passed and I wanted to keep the standards high, since they were likely going into combat. Oddly enough, within a year of his arrival, I received assignment orders to Afghanistan as part of a 4-man mobile training team in support of an Afghan ground unit in the middle of nowhere. So....I retired. :-) Since then I've continued supporting the army's war on terrorism as a civilian contractor. Only now I make more money.
Throughout the years, I've been married and divorced (a couple of times); have two SUPER cool boys; obtained a BS in Professional Aeronautics; and have other basket weaving titles and certificates.

Me and close friend (John) on Iwo Jima beach. VERY moving experience. We also met President Bush 41 at the terminal during refuel. We were the only 2 aircraft on the island. BTW, not only was he shot down in WWII, but he was also the 1st airman to be rescued by a submarine.

Asahikawa Japan; We took off within 10 minutes of this photo. However, my worst day in the cockpit beats breaking down doors, so I never complained.

Caught a "not so happy" moment. (Don't worry, he didn't punch him)
