School Story:
Wow, let's think back - it all started in 1974 with me as a freshman and my older brother, Kirk as the senior class president. Freshman week was his payback to me for years of my being the "petted baby of the family". Pam Sewell and I often found ourselves in some sort of trouble, and I am not so sure that we ever out grew that. The miles between us after she moved away probably saved both of us.....I never liked the thought of doing a bug collection and to the friend that turned theirs in early and then gave it to me so I did not get a F, I will always be greatful. I guess I was destined to work in the eyecare profession - while disecting the frog, I learned that it is not easy to slice an eyeball. I skipped the 11th grade - so much for that term paper and the teacher as well. Then there was the senior trip to Daytona - better leave those thoughts back in 1976...I always enjoyed St. Mark church youth group. We were always into something - trips to Washington DC, Hilton Head, volunteering to work with migrants at Long Creek apple orchards, and the upper room. I hope that those activities with the church are the ones that molded me into the person I have become today.....
