Where do you live now? Where else have you lived? Have you been back to Korea?

Sacramento, California.
Been back to Korea four times (send the family back often), lived there post mission in 1987-88 and taught English, worked as a translator for the press operations staff in the main stadium at the Seoul Olympics. Dated my wife during that time and we were married in the Seoul temple in 1988. Last trip to Korea was an all- family trip in 2023.

Do you still see, talk to or hang out with any former missionaries/companions? If so, Who?

In the 80's in SoCal I bumped into several people that I served with. While finishing school at BYU, saw many more. I haven't seen anyone in years now. Would like to get in touch with anyone who served during our time there, especially former companions and those I lived with.

My service to my community/ Church/ or other volunteer service:

After my mission I served for three years at the LA temple as a veil worker during the monthly Korean language session. I've been Elder's quorum president, ward clerk, gospel doctrine instructor, and a primary teacher also. Currently serving as an ordinance worker in the Sacramento Temple,

What do you like to do in your spare time? Hobbies?

Target shooting and automobile restoration.

Did you go to college? Which college did you attend? How long? Any degrees?

I graduated from Riverside City College in 1987 with an AA degree in English. I felt like I needed some adventure and took some time off to work in Korea teaching English in 1987-1988. I then came back to the States and in 1990 attended BYU until graduation in 1992 with a major in Korean and a minor in International Relations. After graduation went directly to McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, graduated in 1996 and have been here ever since.

Cool things you have done? Famous or interesting people you've met? Brushes with fame?

Worked as a translator at the finish line in the main stadium during the '88 Olympics in Seoul and translated for Carl Lewis, FloJo, etc.

Favorite Korean food:

Kalbi and tolsot bibim pap.

Favorite Korean memories:

Being a roadie for the singing group Destiny, freezing in the winter in Kyo Moon Ri, the all mission P-day we had at Nami som, eating ho duk from a street cart on a cool fall morning!
