Richard and I retired to Cape Cod in 2005. We live in the same house where I summered as a child. I volunteer at Head Start and the local food pantry.
For the last 25 summers we have traveled to another home in the Loire Valley(FR.) Now that we are no longer teaching we are able to extend those lovely visits. I speak French better than anyone could have predicted after my rather pathetic showing in high school French!

Martin Meshenberg's Friday history class with lox and bagels was what I thought college would be about, that grand combination of social and academic interaction. "Haydn Harris- Harris Haydn- Haydn Harris" etc. was Dr. Meshenberg's familiar chant which didnt seem to embarrass Haydn and made us laugh. Does anyone remember that?? I see that Haydn has passed away but I hope he would be pleased I have that memory.
I loved Choir and Reynold Ellis who was terrific until he started going through the sections asking each of us to sing our parts. The Winter Concert always brought the alums on stage to join the choir in singing The Hallelujah Chorus.
Parading on stage in my shorts in South Pacific was another great memory, my debut and finale on the stage.
