Jane Singleton Turner

Enjoyed a successful radio news broadcasting career in Washington DC during and after graduating Howard University in 1975. Left the workforce to become a full time mom, homemaker, & volunteer after marriage in 1983. Re-entered the workforce nearly 20 years later first as a substitute then religious education teacher in the Archdiocese of Washington catholic school system. Became a certified teacher of English as a Foreign Language in 2011 and taught at a private English language school in Bethesda, MD until our relocation/retirement move to Georgia in 2018.

Our class seemed to be at the tail end of the rebellious 60's. But we still had that spirit of activism...most memorable: a large group of us girls from all classes led by the two Shellie's (as in Stokes and Metzenbaum) marched on the principal's office to be allowed to wear nice slacks (not jeans) to school every day...and we won!
