Roger W Goldhamer

 

ROGER W. GOLDHAMER FEBRUARY 8, 1941 - FEBRUARY 6, 2017 Roger Goldhamer, 75, died peacefully at home after a brief struggle with cancer. Roger was born in Cleveland, OH to Mary and Walter Goldhamer. He graduated from Shaker Heights High School and Columbia University in New York. While serving in the Army Reserves he began a long career in television advertising sales in Chicago and New York. He and Jill, his wife of 33 years, were married in Chicago in 1983, lived in New York City for five years and moved to Santa Fe in 1988. In the early 1990's they started and operated Santa Fe Home Services until their retirement in 2006. Roger enjoyed traveling, reading, watching old and new movies and playing bad golf. He served on the board of the Santa Fe Wine & Chile Fiesta for ten years. He also volunteered for many years at LaFarge Public Library. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (Ralph) Dettlebach and Walter (Adele) Goldhamer, brother Allen Goldhamer and father-in-law Milton Scheffler. He is survived by his wife, Jill; daughter Mara Weil and grandchildren Nik (Sarah) Allen and Trish Allen of Chicago; son Kit (Katie) Goldhamer and grandchildren Emma and Kyra of Rio Rancho; mother-in-law Marian Scheffler of Chicago. The family would like to thank PMS Hospice and Olivas Sisters Home Care.
