Judith Carol Thompson Gingerich

Graduated from Kansas State University, BS El.Ed.; Washburn University, BBA Pol.Sci; Kansas University MA Pub.Adm. Teacher and Librarian Elementary School; State Lobbyist in Aging and Social Affairs; Research Analyst for State of Kansas in Aging, Health, and Labor.
Married David F. Gingerich, Civil Engineer in 1963. First year of teaching in Urbana, Ill. where husband was in Graduate School. Have lived in Topeka, Kansas since 1964. In 1971, went to Quito, Ecuador with the Peace Corps with our three pre-school children. Adopted two Ecuadorian children. In Topeka, Volunteered in community: adult literacy, church, Women's advocacy, League of Women Voters. Currently volunteer and contribute to Mennonite home and overseas programs. We have ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren
Our family is our greatest joy.
Retired in 2000. My passion is quilting.

My memory of SMN. I believe that I received a classic education with exceptional teachers. College felt like an extension of high school. I was a very shy person and did not participate in activities in high school. During junior high and high school I played basketball and fast ball with Kansas City women's leagues.
