Is the dressing up in 80's stuff a joke, or are people really going to do it?

Jeffrey Heitzmann

Katie; Show off your collection of 80's garb,8th street 80's party rock on, in Shurvagus!

Brenda Feudner (Zdanowicz)

Carolyn, I had no idea that your grandparents were my neighbors! Did they live North or South of John Z.? They weren't Regi's (the dog) mom and dad, were they? Yes, 26th street was a happenin place....least til the street lights came on!

Tracy, unlike your mom, mine allowed me to go to the Ant Man's house on one end, and the Leonards on the other end. Anything beyond that was out of bounds. And Lord knows the FDA (Feudner Detective Agency) would come-a-lookin if they couldn't see me! There message was more "stay away from freaks", than "be accepting of others."

Angie, I'm trying to round up some pictures!

Katie, From what I've heard, EVERYBODY is dressing up in 80's clothes. ;) right everyone?

Two things, 26th ST. rocked the mofo Casbah and I never stopped wearing '80's cloth. The Guess jeans and Ralph Lauren polo is in my regular rotation.

Definitely do dress up if you can~ just adds to the fun. Maybe as part of the reunion committee we can come up with something special for the "best dressed".

Well girls....should we all break out the Aqua Net?

03/26/09 01:18 PM #128

Brenda Feudner (Zdanowicz)

I say the More Aqua Net the better! I think I'll go get a spiral perm! Guys, promise to do the tuck and roll on your acid wash jeans?

03/26/09 04:55 PM #129

Linda Hoppe (Carrano)

LOL I was just telling my husband that I think Travis Gross was the one that did the tuck and roll on the jeans.

I wasn't the only one. There were several hipsters back in the day. They are just afraid to admit it.

Message from my Son, Asher Heimermann:

My name is Asher Heimermann. I am a high school student living in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I am very active in politics and community service. I was a YouthNoise Featured Activist awhile ago.

Today, I have a request. I need your help. I am asking for donations to help me fund my project. This year, I'd like to have a two week community service project in July and August to get middle school and high school students to serve their city.

But I'll need money to get started. I will need money to pay for postage, paper, ink, food, and flyers. I won't need $1,000 or $500. However, I believe I will need to raise anywhere from $100 to $200.

If you can donate $5, $10, or $20, please mail your donation to the mailing address below. You can send cash, checks, or money orders. Checks and money orders can be written out to "Asher Heimermann". You can also donate via PayPal on my website.

Tracy Blum (Taubenheim)

Hi everyone! I think the only thing I have in my closet from the 80s is a pair of Vans. They were given to me as a gift from Jeremy Kelly (my then boyfriend) and Stacie Brethouwer (my BFFL) for my 14th birthday. Amy, Brenda, do you remember being there? I think we camped out on my front lawn...

Also, am I the only one who had a crush on guys like Burt Reynolds (think Cannonball Run) and Clint Eastwood (think Any Which Way But Loose)? My dad used to take me to the "show house" when it was his weekend, so I pretty much saw what he wanted to see. Just wondering....

It's "White Rain" girls and "Crimping"!! remember? (sigh..........those were the days. I definitely still have some of my old H.S. clothes. I still have my H.S. formal I could haul out, I don't know if it would fit though!!

Brenda Feudner (Zdanowicz)

I remember now, Tracy! Vans...what a perfect gift from Jeremy Kelly! Wow, wonder where that cat is these days! Amy, I JUST gave an old dress to Goodwill...like I'd ever get into it again...and even if I could....

B, the last thing I heard about JK was from Chad Chavez! He told me that he was living in Kentucky and that he had a little boy. I don't believe that he said he was married. I'm not sure how to find him... I think his mom's family is originally from Port Washington. I have not seen him since 1993! Maybe Chavez knows or the Stayers?

Travis, I agree with the groups on your list:
1. U2
2. REM
3. The Replacements
4. The Cult
5. Love and Rockets

If there was a top 10, these would somehow be mixed in probably with The Cult and U2 in the top two places.

Has anyone checked out South's website?
http://www.sheboygansouth89.com/class_classmates.cfm

I love that it is North colors and even has a Raider in the top left corner!

The classmate profiles are available to see if the profiles are not locked. Bummer is that it was fixed and switched back to the dreaded red and white. It was good to see they had our colors for a while.

Anybody else's parents ever have Dewey come to your house just to scare/educate/evaluate you? Eventhough you didn't do anything wrong? Is he still in Sheboygan?

04/03/09 12:10 AM #140

Amy Cramer (Toth)

My Dad owned a business in H.S. so I decided to help myself occasionally to a case of toilet paper and keep it in the hatch of my car, right out in the open (stupid) but Dewey came up to me and asked one day. Amy, why do you have all that t.p. in your backseat of your car? duh? I know he was giving me a hard time, but he was pretty cool and never did anything about it. He just kind of always smiled and walked away. I liked him. I thought he worked his way up in the Sheboygan Police dept. I used to see him driving around. Not so much anymore! He should be retired by now.

I use to see Dewey at the grocery store, I think he was a detective or something like that. I think he is retired too, but not sure.

Travis....seriously? Still wearing horsey shirts? I don't think I've seen one of those on you for a long time.

Does Polo make a tie-dye line that I am unaware of?

Amy Cramer (Toth)

Mike, you must have watched the One hit wonders of the 80's on Friday Night!! I sat and watched for two hours and let me tell you it was quite a walk down memory lane. I forgot about stupid songs like "puttin on the Ritz"!! but, I saw the Edie Brickell video and I love that one!! Will always be a fan of R.E.M!! Thanks for sharing........

04/05/09 04:44 PM #144

Mike Clark

I did not catch that, but I've seen similar shows. I have to admit, it makes me feel old. 38 is the new 18, right?

I especially like the bassist doing the "air hump" dance move in the beginning of the Edie clip I posted. Classy. Chicks dig that, ya know. ;-)

I'll post more videos....as it is Sunday, the kids are fed, and it's crappy outside.

Jennifer Hinze (Carey)

I also got "stuck" or "hooked on" watching the one hit wonders on tv. Not much else was on. I loved seeing some of the videos and remembering back to the good old days. Some of those songs were good though and I wished some of the groups would have done more and gone farther.
