I cannot believe it has been 20 years since we all graduated from North. I guess I feel like both the time has flown by and that so much has happened.
I still have family in Sheboygan so I do make it back now and again. I was able to revisit Brat Days with my wife last August, a great representation of growing up in Wisconsin. We "ran ours buns off" to burn a few calories and then when strait to eating brats and drinking beer.
I have lived in the Portland area for two and a half years and love the Northwest. It has the right mix of wilderness and culture for us without feeling like a sprawling giant of a city. And the people are friendly but proud to keep Portland weird. The hiking and biking rock, cyclocross is huge, Brew Pubs produce some fine ales, Roller Derby is thriving, the theater and ballet are excellent... Stumptown has something for everyone.
That being said, I really miss things in Colorado. We lived in the Denver area for four and a half years. And Colorado has many of the same things to offer. The only problem is too many people know, the secret is out. I have so many fond memories and friends still there.
