US Navy 1989 to 1993. Veteran of the first gulf war. Attended Viterbo University in Lacrosse. Worked in health care in different capacities from 1997 to 2008. Most of it at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in Lacrosse. Also moved to Oregon for two years and worked at a hospital and nursing home out there. Got married. Got divorced. Enough said! Currently reside in Kiel where I am employed with the city of Kiel fire department as a paid on-call emt for their ambulance service. Im in the process of completing paramedic school and other fire fighter courses. Will graduate in Dec. of 2009. After that I hope to land a full time paramedic gig in a little bit bigger city possibly. Kelly and I like living in Kiel and there are plans in the work that the fire department might employ a full time paramedic service in the next 1-2 years. If that happens we might just stay put. Small towns keep me out of trouble for the most part and its a great place to raise your kids. Kelly and I have two daughters, Alivia who is 2 and Sarah who just graced us with her presence on July 1st of this year. All in all for me there have been alot of bumps in the road. I made some really bad choices and lost touch with pretty much everyone and destroyed plenty of frienships to go along with it, but as selfish as I was being i shouldn't have expected anything less. I really never took the time to learn how to deal with alot of stresses and curve balls that life throws at you. Being numb on any chemical or chemicals that I could get my hands on became my way of checking out of this big world that, simply put, really scared the shit out of me. Being in a really bad relationship that I dove into way too fast and with the wrong wrong girl didnt help the cause either, but I guess that is my way of making excuses for my unacceptable behavior. Today I have pretty come to the conclusion that I too deserve to be happy, you only live once, and that it was okay for me not to settle on something until I was confident that I could love the other person unconditionally and always put her needs first without having any strings attached. And the way things are right now there is no dought in my mind that life is going to be great. One thing that i do know is that all of those lifes bumps that I had to navigate, has made me a better husband to be, a great dad to two beautiful girls, and last but not least just a good person. Drugs took that all away from me for many years, but thankfully my eyes opened, it took what seemed at times forever, but they did and I am very thankful for this. But oh well I've run my mouth long enough and we only have two computers at the fire station, not including the chiefs office, and the officers offices, But I am way too much of a newbie to walk into the chiefs office and start messing with stuff on his desk or better yet his computer. Now if it was twenty years ago and it was Kay Robbins desk then I would have no choice, but to keep up that tradition. All in all I am very grateful and blessed to have the life that I do. Every day just keeps getting better and better. God Bless.
