Tammy Jackson (Cunningham)

I always vote but I really don't like politics and because of that I was very disappointed with Oprah. I saw about 10 minutes of her show on Wednesday. I think it was very unprofessional the way she has acted the last year regarding the election. In all of her years on TV she has NEVER supported one canidate over another (on her show) until Obama ran for President. Kid Rock had made a comment not too long ago about how wrong it was for her to use her show to support Obama.

Tammy,

I am on the fence about celebs voicing their political preferences. Sticky area freedom of speach and all. There are other areas of concern to should a pastor or some other religious leader be able to back a candidate? It just all seems like a bit of a gray area to me. What I do know is the only thing that bothers me more than Opra, is Kid Rock thinking he can judge what is right or wrong.

Can the reunion commitee start a thread for topics regarding election and the president elect? I'm about sick of all the political nonsense in this forum. We have a president - it's over - you can't change it - support and accept it or move to France! People will never agree on politics and I don't think this is the place for any of us to voice our political views - especially in the tone that's being used! If Obama doesn't do what he's supposed to do - we get to vote again in 4 years! We have another election coming up - where we have an opportunity to make a change! Anyone want to run for Governor?

This is a place for us to chat with each other about whatever is going on in our lives or the country for that matter. I see nothing wrong with people voicing their opinions on anything here. It's a place to connect and the election is current and relavent to our lives.

Holly and Kathy,

Holly,
I agree with what you are saying about the relevance of things being in our lives and that includes politics. :o)

Kathy,
Threads will be a nice addition if people want to run different topics but right now it is not an option. Therefore, we need to be open and accepting of one another and their opinions. We do not want to turn this into a dictatorship of what can and can not be reported or said.
With that being said, Adam if you want to talk about fetishes have at it. lol All are welcome and all discussions are welcome. :o)

I am voting for you! The voice of reason. Call me we have to hook up today. I could use a couple cocktails.

You've got to be kidding about the dictatorship comment! Politics and Religion are things that are sensitive subjects. Stacey addressed the issue with tact and it was ignored. It's one thing to talk about current events and things that are going on in our lives - what has been said in this forum regarding Obama specifically is not along those lines. It's not ok to offend people intentionally. If you put a comment on this site that YOU KNOW WILL AND INTEND TO offend someone, then that's malicious intent and it's wrong. Apparently, others are offended as well because I got 2 emails on this site, 7 off the site and 4 telephone calls from others in agreement. I think it's safe to agree to disagree! We are coming back together after 19 years. It's supposed to be fun and nobody wants to be offended or upset. That was my point friends!

The golf outing will be the day before the party and I will have prices updated later this week. Joe

Kathy,

You are right about the word dictatorship...I should have said censored. Definite BRAIN FOG that I need to apologize to people for saying. Yes, some comments were definitely very strong but I felt Holly talking about homes and their monetary values and such was not something to be offended by.
Maybe, I upset you by talking about being happy about the stem cell research being passed. For me that is a very important issue personally.
I doubt this will continue to be a political forum as The election is done and over. No matter what you support your president and that is the bottom line. There is no where else I would rather live. :o)

I was thinking Cracklewwod but we could do Romeo golf course and than have drinks and dinner at my brother's bar down the road. I don't care either way so we will let the majority of the people decide. Thanks Joe

Good job Joe.:) Trying to decide on a golf course is a big decision. If people are in agreement of the golf course by your brothers bar, I personally like the idea of supporting a fellow classmates family member. It only makes sense to support a fellow eagle if we are going to be buying dinner and beverages. I am not a golfer so I do not know how the rest of the group will feel about the courses. Either way great job.

Sheri,
Thanks for the support and Bob (my brother) would love the business but the more I think about it the less we have to drive the better. I will contact Cracklewood and see what they can offer us since it will all be there (golf and dinner). I will also check with Tony Volpe because I know he used to own Glacier Golf Course and see what is going on there. Joe

Hey Nezich if you still work with Matt Smith tell him to get on this site. I know he is busy with his body building contests but he should post some pictures. Maybe from his contests for all the ladies...haha Joe

Joe,

You would know best as far as what would work out for the better. Somehow, I think that as word keeps spreading your brother is going to have lots of business.
Our class is full of PRE-reunions...I am sure one of them could be at his bar. :o)

Sheri,

That is a good idea. I will try and set a date over the holiday's for a get together at his bar. He just bought 7 new plasma tv's so it is coming around. It looks just like the Shamrock bar in Utica but a little bigger. Thanks Joe

I'm going to post this and risk all the Italian jokes that could come my way!!

That sell your gold party I had Thursday - just on my gold I made $988! Then I got 10% of the total that was sold and got another $500! If you have an opportunity to go or host one, let me tell you that it will be worth your while. People were dancing out of my house Thursday night! Not bad for 2 1/2 hours of my time! My guests were in and out in 20 mintues and everyone was happy!

I love you but I can not resist. I guess you were given a "Golden Opportunity." BAD JOKE I KNOW! We need some more humor going and you certainly have set the bait. HA HA

Stacy,

Can you let us all know how Jim is doing. My thoughts and prayers have been with your family. :o) He is very lucky to have such a loving wife and family.

Debbie Miller,

Make us jealous and tell us the temperature and what the weather is like where you are right now! :o) ALOHA!!!

Well its not all that great, since its getting to be "winter" here it rains quite a bit during the next few months. Currently its 77 deg but feels like 78. (accordinng to weather.com) Its mostly cloudy, not a good day for kakaying at all! :) Hey, I'll be back in MI soon enough to get a quick feel of the cold weather.

11/08/08 01:16 PM #596

Sheri Strang

Deb,

I am sure there are 100's of classmates shedding a tear over your pitiful 77 degrees you are experiencing. ha ha
We will have to make sure we give you some good old fashion Michigan weather for your return. We would not want to deprive you of the experience that we still live with on a daily basis. :)

Bring on the jokes! Why should anything change after 19 years! I thought y'all would get a kick out of how much gold I had! I even got rid of stuff I had from high school. That's right! I parted with my Italy and Sicily charms not to mention that crazy dollar sign ring! I can't even believe I wore that thing! My dad had a nugget charm with a diamond in it! I laughed so hard when I saw it that I was crying!

Kathy,

I am having flashbacks of your golden days!!! :o) You should have taken a picture of all of the gold and posted it on your profile. I remember what you are talking about. lol

Lets do a get together at Bob Youngblood's bar mid December.

Tracy Murphy (Jenkins)

Can we do a get together at Rob's bar the weekend before Christmas? I don't go downstate much, but we are planning a trip to celebrate the holidays with family that weekend. Just a little suggestion.

Matt Smith is a big body builder? All of us girls would love to see those pictures!
