Hey All! Haven't posted anything on the board but have been reading whats been goin on and damn you guys have been busy! A friend of mine said you guys did a hell of a job on the course the last golf outing. He said he never picked up so many empty cans and bottles of whiskey. Jack Daniels seems to be the fave. Anyways an someone bring me up to speed about the golf, reunion, hotel thing that your all chatting about? Thanks!

KEN, of course you won't sleep with guys like me being there because you'll be too busy getting drunk and wild, then maybe even sick.

Hi Nicole,

The golf outing is July 31 and the first tee time will be 12:00pm at Black heath. We will head to Rochester after golf and some people have rooms at Royal Park that night. I didn't know of the other wild golf outing but it sounds like it was fun!! JY

Hey Joe~Thanks for the info. Is there anyone that needs a fourth or wants to put together a foursome?

Thanks to the people who have emailed me so far re. if you are playing golf. If you posted on the forum please email me so I have a up to date head count. I would like to do one of two options...option 1 is have a fun outing with side bets and skins of course (optional). Option two is option 1 with a fundraiser for Michigan Special Olympics, Cancer Society, Cystic Fibrosis, Children's Hospital etc. Also a 50/50 raffle, Vegas hole (different ways to raise money). I am open to any ideas. Let me know what you think!! Thanks

Wow, haven't been on here for a while . . . it has been a crazy year at Caterpillar!! Sounds like you all have been doing some awesome things pulling this together. I think I speak for all the out-of-towners when I say thank you for all your hard work. This will be a blast! Count me in for golf! Debbie won't play however, last time she joined me in one of these outings I accidently tossed her out of the cart.

Nice Craig.

Also...we will have this golf outing every year. Nice filler until we have the 30th or 40th. Great chance to see everyone each year and a chance for some of us to have a night out with the boys or girls. The first tee time will be 10:00am at Black Heath on July 31. An optional skins game will be offered to all participants. I checked the Farmers Almanac and it is supposed to be 81 degrees and Sunny on July 31!! JY

Joe,

If this golf outing turns into an annual function, then we should try to set up a scholarship fund from the class of '89 for a worthy Ike student. Any thoughts?

06/16/09 09:55 PM #1385

Joe Youngblood

Good idea Tracy. We could do the Molly Youngblood scholarship fund class of 2022!!

All kidding aside I think that is a really good idea. How do we put it together?

06/17/09 11:15 AM #1386

Aaron Polchowski (Tex)

Great Idea, but the real class of 89 scholarship fund would consist of beer, smoke, a gas guzzling 4 door and annual pass to Stoney.

Is the dress code casual for the reunion or are we getting a little dressed up? I know it's at a bar but I'm kind of wondering what others are wearing. Also is there a picnic or just golf?

06/18/09 07:30 AM #1388

Aaron Polchowski (Tex)

I like the picnic idea. I'm getting dressed a little.

Well Tex, I think I can speak for all when I say we are glad you are going to wear some clothes! ;-)

David Dobradenka

I think it should be a Toga party, at least that is how Tex and I are going

My house is open to all, plenty of space and if you get sick it will be easy to clean up, no carpet all hardwood (The floor not me and Tex)

Kenneth McLain

Doby, I'm not going to the reunion, I'm just going to your house that night and wait for all to come back, get a keg for me.

In response to Holly- As far as dress attire I think most people are going to be dressing in casual attire. Probably along the guidelines of going to church.

Although apparently there will be a Greek Conference and many Ike guys in Togas! :o)

I doubt it is formal. If I recall the original concept was for a more casual and affordable reunion. If anyone knows otherwise, please correct me! :o)

Smiles and Hugs~ Sheri

Dress code based on whom I spoke with seems to be business casual.

I am sure it is kakes and polo since it is at Rochester brewing beer company. If it was at Penna's or a place like that than maybe suit and tie. My thoughts anyways but I was wrong once before!!

Shirt can be a cut off and shorts can be very short.

Dress code is casual. If you have been to Rochester Mills before (or some may not have) it's a pretty laid-back family place. We wanted the twenty year to be casual, fun, and affordable. The entire back of the restaurant is ours for the evening, with the event starting at 6pm. Dinner will be served from 7pm until 8pm (strolling style dinner). Then the rest of the night is for conversation, mingling, and fun. Thanks
