After high school, I moved to Olympia and received a BA in Accounting at St. Martin's College. I worked a variety of jobs with the State of Washington over a period of twenty years to support my own income tax business during the tax season. Over the past twenty years, I have run my tax business on a full time basis and service over 2000 clients a year.
I have no desire or intention to retire; if I want, I work only 3 - 4 months a year (which I have to do just to afford the things I want to do the other eight or nine months of the year)!
The kids are all out of the house and my wife and I love to travel--we take in Vegas three or four times a year (partly business, partly fun) and we try to take a half dozen road trips, listening to audio books and enjoying the benefits of different parts of our great country.
We also try to fit in at least one cruise every year or two. In the fall of 2007, we took a 64 day cruise--it left Seattle for Russia and then went down the entire Asian coast, with stops in Japan, China, South Korea, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, on the way to Australia, New Caledonia, Samoa, and Hawaii, with the final stop at San Diego. Then we spent a couple nights at the Del Coronado hotel and rented a van and drove home....it was fantastic!
