Where else have you lived over the years?

Maryland, Virgina, West Virgina, Wheatfield Indiana, Valparaiso Indiana, Indianapolis Indiana, Houston, shepherd, Spring.

Any Ideas yet on where you'd like to retire?

If money is not an issue I will be looking for a place where the avg. temp is 75.
But I'm sure money will always be an issue and that means that there will be no retirement.

So do you still have family around Shepherd, TX?

Mom and sister, and her family, still live in Shepherd along with son, Cody.

Do you ever get back to Shepherd?

Was back there in 2006, came down to do repairs to my Mom's house.

Have you kept up with anyone from the Class of '82?

Over the years I touched bases with a few. Trey Barlow and I emailed a few times over the years and through him I got in touch with Ron, which got this website going. Marlon Hardy, Bobby Johnson, James Ener, and there are some more that I saw 20 yrs ago.

So what did YOU do right out of high school?

I went to work for my Farther. He ran a service co that did repairs for Exxon Service Stations. Had a short marriage that produced two children.

So what other jobs did you do over the years?

Service Tech and later on, Foreman for Dad's Co.,Laborer for cable laying Co.,this one got me out of Shepherd and helped me change allot of my ways that needed changing, Thanks Bobby J.. Equipment operator for cable TV company, this is when I moved to Indiana. Warehouse for Sysco Foods. Sears Service Tech in Houston, we came back for 2 years. I went to Harris County Community College and learned my current trade, HVAC. Back to Indiana and worked for Valparaiso University for quit a few years. Was a Director for a local non profit and we built affordable housing. Currently I do all the HVAC for Verizon in my area and boss is 150 miles away, I like this Job! For the last 12 or so years I team up with bother in law and we go out to area events and make and sell funnel cakes, elephants ears, lemonade and anything else we can get people to buy.

So what is your favorite thing to do with spare time?

Coach my daughters youth softball team. Be with my family. Have not played any organized sports sense son started playing sports 12 years ago, used to play allot of softball. Read books and hang with my family. Serve on the Board of Directors for Project Neighbors, I was the Director for them for 5 years, then went to work with current co. and after a year they asked me to serve as a board member and I started doing that this year.(2009)

Travel much? What's some highs & lows of your travels over the years?

Colorado, California,Nashville, Virgina, West, Virgina, Mexico, just across the border, and Canada at Niagara Falls.

Any place you still want to go see?

Hawaii, and the rest of the USA

What would we be surprised to know about you that we didn't know then?

That I like to coach youth sports, baseball, softball, soccer and basketball. This will go along with the phrase, Those who can , do, and those who cannot ,teach. I like to cook and read. One of the things that most did not know was when I was a pre-teen, I spent my summers at my grand parents who ran a Bar-B-Que Biz, latter on my farther had one in Shepherd on HWY 59, some may remember that. So I love to Bar-B-Que, brisket, ribs, chicken and show people up here in Yankee land what real Bar-B-Que is!!!!! One day I hope to open Bar-B-Que restaurant here

What is your best memory of high school?

Beating Barbers Hill and I enjoyed the senior trip. I got trashed that first night there!!!! who else? Bet there are some really good stories from that trip!?!
And last but not least, having Sharon Smith as my teacher.

What is your worst memory of high school?

Being accused of stealing a band uniform and having to deal with all the issues that go along with something like that. Never getting out of district for football, so close....

Biggest thing you would do differently if we could go back?

The obvious....pay a lot more attention in class.

What's your favorite drinks? Foods? Music? Movies?

Brewed Ice Tea, corona beer, Any kind of Mexican food, Bar-B-que. Still listen to Rock and Roll, they just call it classic rock now. As for movies if Bruce Willis is in it, I'm watching. Love the modern day movie version of Lord of the Rings and of coarse STAR WARS!!

Met anyone famous or interesting over the years?

Mickey Morrindi from the Cubs, Bryce Drew from VU and latter the Rockets and a few other local pros, that retired to this area, Ron Kittle and loyd Mcclendon. I met Earl Cambell in Shepherd shortly after he retired from football, he was the biggest and nicest guy, just a country boy.

Any "words of wisdom" from your life on this planet so far?

Just keep trying to do our part to make our world a better place to be.
