Any children?: Two lovely girls that are swiftly growing up! Fallon Shai was born in 1994 and Dara Janai was born More…in 1995. They are truly great gals and such blessings in our lives. Birthed them in my 30's, but Dan and I feel young at heart in just trying to keep up with them!
Where else have you lived over the years?

Houston and Splendora -until we moved to CS in Sept., 2007. We want to stay here! This is home and we love it. A little bit of country and city. (Can't take the country away from me -Tee Hee)
Did not realize that I lived so close to Teresa Mosely until recently.

Any Ideas yet on where you'd like to retire?

Um, not given it much thought. I will go wherever my man goes. He's my rock! And of course, wont move any time soon from here for my gals wanna attend college....I really think I would like to do what some of my relatives did and that is have a nice coach and travel a bit. We love traveling!

So do you still have family around Shepherd, TX?

My parents live in Shepherd, and my sister lives near Coldspring. She has worked FOREVER at the EastTx Title Co. in Coldspring.

Do you ever get back to Shepherd?

I do visit there at least once a month. My spouse is not a big fan of Shepherd, so we did not live there after marriage.

Have you kept up with anyone from the Class of '82?

At first I did, then lost touch. I have seen several passing thru, and that included Dianne. I have kept in-touch most with Jackie McKinney (Kinard). I did attend her Uncle's church in Splendora for 22 years.

So what did YOU do right out of high school?

Worked at Alamo Barge Lines, until the oil boom. Then worked at InterFirst Bank on Fannin, downtown Houston. Then married in 1985. Then worked at Halliburton Energy. (HMMMM seems I worked, worked, worked) LOL I did work for a few months at Shell Oil with my spouse too. Anyhow, I did go to school for Massage License and now do this PT and work at the University PT.

So what other jobs did you do over the years?

Ooops, well, read all of the above. LOL

Any Grandkids yet?

Lordy No!

So what is your favorite thing to do with spare time?

MY spouse and I are over the SALT class (College and Career) of our church, and we spend many Friday evenings with them. That can be from playing games @ our home to going out to A&M sports, or just plain ole fishing and time outdoors. We love hanging out with them. However, we do spend a lot of quality time with our family going to Houston or Austin to the theater area, museums, concerts, etc. On a slower pace, I love to sit back with a good book in my jammies and chill out - while my fam watch videos. Lately, I have experimented with cake decorations and love it. We are pretty active with church events as well. SOOO, we are just pretty busy, but I would not have it any other way. My favorite time of year is Christmas, for our whole family (including all in-laws) get together at the Lodge and spend 3-4 nights and eat, fellowship and have a MERRY ole time! I like sewing, decorating and being crafty (but don't have much time to do this as I'd like) I love music, and still play the piano in my spare time. Oh yea, and I love the internet too! :-)
Can you imagine having life without cell phones and computers???

Any vices?

Nah

Travel much? What's some highs & lows of your travels over the years?

Yes, we love traveling. Well, to put it bluntly, when our kids were MUCH younger, it was nice to road travel because for the most part, they slept. HAHA! But now, it's kind of like that movie "Are we there yet?" I hate that question! So, we have flown the last couple of trips for it's much faster and less hassle. The lows of one of our road trips was when my Father-in-law passed away. We flew to Ohio, but then 9-11 happened the next day so we had to drive that long trip back home due to airports being closed. However, we love any vacation time together. I am going to say that Disney was one of our most highlights and the girls are begging us to take them back. Soo, we may try the Disney Cruise for our friends raved about it!

Any place you still want to go see?

Yes, I'd love to see Hawaii. And New York during the holidays. So, 2 goals that I must strive to meet! My hubby wants to visit where his roots are from, IRELAND!

Well, since my last posting, I have been to WV, NY, PA and of course OH where my hubby is from. Our family will be visiting NY this Christmas. Looking forward to this!

What would we be surprised to know about you that we didn't know then?

Hmmm, nothing I guess. I am the same happy-go-lucky person and of course, changed many courses of my life to better! Starting with putting God back into my life FIRST.

I have no complaints! I am so blessed beyond measure!

What is your best memory of high school?

Just having many great friends that have become like family. Glad as we all were having to graduate, it was still sad to go our separate ways. I liked BETA Club (I ate more candy than I sold!)

What is your worst memory of high school?

Well, I went thru that horrible, rebel stage in life! And shame to say, many have seen the "bad" side of me my SR year. But, we have all made mistakes and learned from them.

Biggest thing you would do differently if we could go back?

Not having been a backslider from God. But, I guess I am who I am today from some of those mistakes I have made. It has helped mold me into a better Christian today and a pretty good mother to my kids! Some things were "hidden" from my parents, however, I have the most open and greatest relationship with my own kids that I can help fight the enemy away in their own battles!

What's your favorite drinks? Foods? Music? Movies?

I love food! LOL Well, I love pastas (Olive Garden is one of my fave!) and I love Mexican food. But, I also enjoy a great salad and fruit. Some of my fave drinks are Peach Tea and Raspberry Tea as well as HazelNut Coffee. We visit StarBucks a lot! I like anything from scary to love to drama to suspenseful movies (VARIETY WOULD BE BEST DESCRIPTION) My fave music are oldies and light rock and gospel of every kind.
It might have been easier to write my "dislikes of foods"...being seafood. I am not too crazy about anything other than plain ole fried fish.

Met anyone famous or interesting over the years?

Let's see, does going to the rodeo count? LOL
Hmmm, my boss's wife is the secretary to George Bush. We meet up not with the Bushs, but with the Peopsels and go out occasionally. Really enjoyed seeing her "hall of fame" at her house with all the Bush family for the last 20+ years! Also, my spouse is a friend (grew up with him) of the cartoonist Jerry King.

Any "words of wisdom" from your life on this planet so far?

Always put God first in life, and He will always make a way for us. Keep focused on not having the best, but doing the best with what we have. Always keep a healthy relationship with your family. Don't go into debt to be happy, make the best of your surroundings. Make wonderful MEMORIES with your family. (Material things can fade away, but memories last). Keep a POSITIVE attitude... See the bright side of things (less stress). "Years teach us more than books!"

Anything else you'd like us to know?

Well, I have lots more gray hair and have gained a few pounds as well as wrinkles. LOL
