Bridgett, I like the idea of a park! We could get a DJ and cook out and BYOB and it would be very inexpensive. And a park might be the only venue that could handle this size group.

I'm getting ahead of myself though. We should have a committee made up of 2 or more reps. from each class.

Vicki,
Yes, you can shake your booty, or your tail feather, or what ever you would like!!!!! I think a park would be the best place. Like you said the size of the group will play a big factor. Having a D.J., cook-out, play a game of softball or something. It would be a lot of fun!!!! We have enough doctors in our group alone to help with the cost!!!! lol

Vicki you are the QUEEN Bee you can say what ever you like! :) lets see 1.Park 2. DJ 3. BYOB 4. adults 5. nice weather! Hmmmm sounds to me like a reason to mingle show of your tans in sexy but not too sexy cloths while drinking adult beverages and shakin your bootie??? im up for all of that! LOL

I'll send out an e-mail for volunteers for a committee and see what happens.

LOL! Justin, I might be the queen, but I'm still chastisable. : )

I wouldn't want to be on the committee cuz I live too far away to attend meetings. But as long as there's something for everyone, I'm cool with it.

Living in Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner, not!!!!) does not work for me being on the committee. I would love to help if I can. Justin you have it summed up!!!! Sounds like a good time!!!!

On the other hand, beggars can't be choosers...and most things could be handled online these days. Face-to-face meetings are almost obsolete!

David has some good ideas...care to share them with everyone?

Oh, it just occurred to me...isn't the 89 reunion sometime next summer? All the more reason for us to make it as affordable as possible. The more people that come, the cheaper it will be.

I have never been to New Orleans or Mardi Gras! Sad, I know. But, yeah!!! Where's OUR bail-out? : )

well maybe i need to head this up! NOT!! but i love to go to Bourbon Street we usually go to New Orleans about 3 or 4 times a year for a weekend! its a blast when you are with a group of friends!

Vicki, if you like to unwind from time to time you need to make a point of going (with a group) it can be alot of fun! and you can laugh at alot of weird people and not the type you see on TV! We go every St Patricks day to Meteria La, they have a huge parade with over a 100 floats! its an adults parade for the most part but wow what a party! and they throw every thing from vegtables to underware! LOL its a blast!

I think you SHOULD be in on this! You've been one of the main characters since day one! People read this for entertainment and you've been right there providing it...so you should have a say! : )))))

Now, I HAVE been to the Tamale Festival in Louisiana...somehow I don't think it was quite the same. LOL!

Here's what I think - - just food for thought - that we could plan a whole informal weekend - Friday night whoever wants to meet at a restaurant or something like that can and then we can go listen to Stevie play his guitar at some tres cool venue - that would make the Little Rock Peeps happy - Saturday we could do a park thingy with a pitch-in or even at the lake - Sunday we could all find something fun to do.... more lake - breakfast - I would say it could be a mixture of planned and impromtu so people can do whatever would fit into their schedule. Having the entire weekend would give some of us who live far away more stuff to do. Just a thought..... Would love to just hang out.....

Becky
All of your ideas sound good to me. I would rather make it a weekend event. It takes me 6 hours to get to Sheridan from Mustang, OK.... I would want to see as many people as I could and take a couple of days doing it!!!

12/02/08 05:04 PM #487

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Becky, have you been talking to David? : ) His thoughts are the same...lake, day-time event with kids, optional night-time events with adults-only. It could be really GREAT!

"Stevie"...*snicker*

Well the class of '87 tried to have an informal get-together this summer but it fell through. I think it's a great idea to have it over a weekend in order to give everyone a chance to come but it's still so hard to make it really happen. I really enjoyed seeing everyone at are reunion and we had an excellent time at the "after party". Completely unplanned but very entertaining!

12/02/08 05:16 PM #490

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

I'm all for after-parties! : )

Yeah, with this many people, it's gonna be tough to do ONE thing that pleases everyone. A variety spread over a couple of days would be better.

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Heck, if they still exist, I'd be fine with going to Electric Cowboy or Joe's Big Bamboo or whatever it's calling itself these days and just hanging out. I'm easy. : )

Trina Smurl (Williams) (1989)

Hey everyone. Been busy with life!! ha haa

I love the ideas about the mutli-class reunion. I have no idea what is happening with the 89 reunion. I think they are planning it in Jan. So hopefully more details will be coming soon.

Being so far away is sometimes a problem. I don't feel like I can help much and depending on when they both are I might have to chose just one. Bummer!!

I hope it doesn't come to that but oh well that's life.

12/02/08 05:22 PM #493

Justin James (1986)

David, just wants the lake thing so he can see the swimsuits! come on even Stevie Wonder can see that! and any kind of live music sounds good! After thinking about it David i think your the smartest man here! but we would need info posted on what everone is wearing because we do not want people to be dressed alike!!!! LOL

12/02/08 05:23 PM #494

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the River Market a little uppity-uppity???? I'm not a formal/snobby/smoker-hater type of girl... : ))))))))))

12/02/08 05:24 PM #495

Bridget Sterrett (Felstead) (1988)

Oh so funny!!!!!! You are right I don't want you to wear the same thing David is... that would be to weird!!!

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)
