I for one am glad that some guys don't kiss and tell... :)

Kudos on the Freedom Jam picture!! That was amazing!!

Vic - we may have lost lots and lots of years, but we are making them up in WARP speed!! It's what we do from this point forward that will really matter.

It all makes me want to move three states south!!!

Thanks Mark, I didn't know you were paying attention until much later :) remember Fajita Willies and Beaches? Still one of my favorite dates. Can't wait to see you and Jaime again. Christmas?

Stupid work...just gets in the way of all of this great bantering! Only a couple of comments....(sorry, playing catch up!)
1. Pat Moltz's Grand National. When he got it we were dating and a bunch of us wanted to see how fast it would go...I was sitting in the middle in the front...someone told him to punch it (maybe David Lunsford?) and I literally went backwards (through the front two bucket seats)...it was awesome!
2. Mark....don't feel safe because you are NOT safe...when you least expect it....Expect it!
3. LOVED the suckers, Vickie! Purple, pink, yellow...clear wrapping...no branding that I remember? I am cracking up at all of the Mt. Dew drinkers! I don't think I drank anything else...especially after the whole "New Coke" debacle! I think it was a scam...Classic Coke was never the same as the old coke...no fructose...only cory syrup...was that the plan the whole time? That's my Conspiracy Theory and I'm sticking to it!

Oops...one more thing...there is no disputing...Aaron, You are THA man. Completely impressed! Seriously...do you have a program from David Bazzel's visit to our school too? What did he come talk to us about any one remember? Gold's Gym or something? ;-)

Unless they came more than once, I'm pretty sure Freedom Jam performed in the new auditorium and not McKenzie Hall. I'll gladly stand corrected though if anyone thinks otherwise. I distinctly remember their boast of being drug free.

The freedom Jam show was in the old auditorium. It was my first taste of a "real" rock show. can anyone remember what year that was.

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Wow! You go to work...and bam "Freedom Jam" shows up! Whew! I am trying to dust off my memory. Jody, I think I was in Junior High when I attended both sets of Freedom Jam at McKenzie Hall-The Old building that was falling apart. Aaron you are definintely the man for keeping that poster and you are on top of stuff! Hard work today and it was fun to look over the many pages of activity in here. We have a massive snow storm here dumping as much as two feet. I gotta get up and move that snow for some clients tomorrow. Justin, how is the weather down by the bay? Wish I was down there. You guys have fun. Great posts today-very fun!!

Justin James (1986)

Lisa, I was not being mean just saying, thats all? LOL Chuck the weather down here is still in the 60 degree range depending on the day! usually sunny, Stacey what would you say to your children for riding in a car like that? remember BLACKMAIL will not get you any where but the posting of pics will raise your status among the rest of us! :)

The Freedom Jam concert I remember was in Mckenzie Hall. They didn't build the new auditorium until my senior year. It wasn't my 1st concert though. That would be KISS, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, circa 1977, maybe the Love Gun tour. Love Gun, didn't get that back then.

I would probably tell them to buckle up! When I got my mustang, I BEGGED my dad for a GT. He told me no, that I would kill myself with all of that speed. He knew me well....I am just like him.
I learned to drive on my brother's RX7....it was all down hill from there!
Well Mark...your sunk....peer pressure and all...how can I say no to that?

12/09/08 09:44 AM #859

Mark Avant (1985)

Wow,Stacy, I remember Terry's RX-7. Very sweet. Out of all of our brothers, he was the coolest. And he worked on jets.
How could he be any more cool.
Oh and you don't scare me little neighbor girl.
2 feet of snow, great for skiing. All we have out here is the fake stuff so far. Can't cut and thrust like you can on the powder.
Justin needs to hush.

Does anyone remember having classes on the catwalk in the old gym. Man, that place was a death trap!

12/09/08 10:25 AM #861

Aaron Wilson (1988)

Jody - I've posted a few things on the SHS88 blog about the KW Gym that you might find interesting. I actually have a set of the lockers from the catwalk. They're in my son's room right now.

Here's the locker story and here's a little bit about the beginning (and end) of the gym.

Mark Avant (1985)

I do Jody, and remember those classes in the admin bldg. You had to go thru the gym and go down into that dungeon. I think I had an art class down there.

Aaron Wilson (1988)

You guys seem pretty sure about Freedom Jam & McKenzie Hall. Makes me wonder if they came a 2nd time when we were in the new auditorium. If that's not the explanation, then I'm afraid I'm losing my super powers. :(

12/09/08 10:36 AM #864

Jody Lowery (1986)

Aaron- that is awsome that you have those lockers! remember over in the corner of the gym there was a door leading down some stairs (northwest corner). I had heard that was an old smoking area

Mark- Mrs. Mclains art classes, I still see her around town

12/09/08 10:38 AM #866

Mark Avant (1985)

There must've been a 2nd show Aaron. I'm pretty sure about the one in Mckenzie Hall, and you seem to be on your game.
That poor Tim McCool really caught a lot of grief.

Justin James (1986)

Remeber coach Yancy he could swing a paddle! Does any one remember going to games at the old field? wow that was along time ago!!!!!!!!!!

12/09/08 10:46 AM #868

Mark Avant (1985)

I remember having what Coach Yancey called full contact dodgeball games in that gym. Couldn't do that nowadays.

Jody Lowery (1986)

HA HA Tim McCool, I haven't thought of that for years, The flying fool!

12/09/08 10:48 AM #870

Jody Lowery (1986)

Everybody used to say " Coach Yancey played for the Miami Dolphins." I just remember he could kick a football outta sight!

Love the pictures, Jody! Nice one of the Dirty 30. I sure wish I knew whatever happened to Cherri and Marcus Pitcock.
