Ummm, I have to confess something. I saw Mamma Mia last night, and didn't hate it. I know I am something of an oddity in that I'm straight and like some older musicals. But, it was good. I didn't even mind Pierce Brosnan's singing. Wow, who woulda guessed.

Alicia, good to hear from you. You should come around whenever you get a chance. We seem to check in regularly.

Yes...Glad to hear you are doing well...I am not sure who sent in my e-mail address to let me know about the site but I have sure enjoyed it...I do not get a chance to get on-line much for fun...lol...My kids both are very active in sports and I seem to spent all of my time in a gym or on a ballfield but I would not trade it for anything..I laugh and tell everyone if you do not work with me , play ball with my kids or go to church with me I do not know who you are...I will try to get some pics up when I get back home...we are currenly in Texas at my husband's family's home...

Mark - Thanks for the great review.

Interesting that you mentioned Smithereens. In fact this afternoon, another singer I know is coming over to work with me on learning the songs for a Smithereens Tribute band show that will be 3/5 of the BosweLLs and another singer... one time show... and the guy who is coming over... a singer named "Pat" actually knows Pat Dinizio and is planning on sending him a recording of the show... so it has to be good.

Yeah.. we are melodic pop... power pop... some songs have a little edge but most are creamy pop goodness and if we had the chops, I would want to sound more Jellyfish than anything else.

We have three CDs.. .the first one was never pressed but was simply hand burned one Disc at a time... it only has eight tunes but some are pretty good. The LAST two CDs can be bought at NotLame.com "Planet Nine" and "Play Fair"

They arent expensive... I would be happy to just give you one, in fact... if you were here. But NotLame is the best way to go seeing as how you arent. If you want to choose one... go with "Play Fair".

GROOVY, Steve!!! Mesmerizing even! Love that song!

Hey, is anyone else having a problem viewing profiles on Jacket House from years other than their own? If so, let me know please.

Hi, Everyone! I just signed up yesterday and have enjoyed reading some of the postings. This is a wonderful site. Thanks, Vicki.

When you guys talk music I get lost. It's cool though. I am hopeless when it comes to analyzing music, etc...All these years I was a closet ABBA fan, finally, it came out and I have stood my ground ever since. It is great to see a few others like me...sniff LOL! I haven't seen "Mama Mia" yet, but the ABBA tunes from my childhood bring back good memories!

Vickie I haven't had any trouble looking at profiles on "The Jacket House" specifically. You can't look at profiles on the Class Websites that are on the links unless you sign up.

That's SO FUNNY! I just rented Mama Mia last week for Anita, since she falls asleep during the credits to any action/suspense movie I rent (I'm referring to the OPENING credits!).

So I rent Mama Mia... kinda curious since I'm also an ABBA fan. And...

My name is Aaron Wilson. I'm an ABBAholic.

you guys are killing me with all this ABBA talk and its from the guys!!!! no problem with viewing profiles here? so are you all getting ready for the big weekend?

01/11/09 11:37 PM #1535

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Justin, I carry a "man purse/bag" also...Is ABBA "chick music"? It's old and cheesey but that is not bound to any gender...

01/12/09 12:14 AM #1536

Mark Avant (1985)

I don't think it's chick music, I think ABBA is much better than 90% of what's out now. And those girls really can sing and Benny and Bjorn are really talented musically. They didn't have Auto-tune for singing back then.
So since nothing out now really gets me going I've gone back and started listening to stuff I dismissed in the past and giving it a second chance. I find a lot of it sounds much better to me now that I'm more open minded about what I can admit I like. So stuff like ABBA and Neil Diamond and other things that I used to make fun of, I listen to now.

This still gives me chills whenever I hear it:

Justin James (1986)

Mark, Chuck and all out there, Mark you said it! Im going back to the old stuff i dismissed and giving it a second chance! Not to state the obvious but you like it because you are getting "OLD" :) we are becoming our parents! If Lawence Welk was still on TV we would all be watching it! LOL

01/12/09 10:05 AM #1539

Mark Avant (1985)

Steve, would like to hear that Smithereens show. I really like them. Very different sound when they came out. All that hair metal and Debbie Gibson pop and this groovy bass driven coffee house 60's sound cuts thru my Pioneer 6x9's. I remember it well.

01/12/09 01:04 PM #1540

Steve Warmack (1987)

Whoa Whoa Whoa

Lawrence Welk is still on TV here. Reruns every week on PBS here in the natural state.

It is UN WATCH A BLE

01/12/09 02:05 PM #1541

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Let me see I am getting old, but I never seemed to get away from the "old stuff" LOL! My music in high school was all over the map: Prince, Billy Idol, Punk, classic rock-mostly Hendrix, New Wave-whew...In college I am a little sketched to admit that I added to my preferences "House Music" and at the same time Def Leppard, White Snake, etc.... But I never left the oldies.

01/12/09 02:29 PM #1542

Mark Avant (1985)

Yeah, I'm with Steve on the Lawrence Welk show. I was MADE to watch it when I was younger. Only 1 tv in the house and 4 channels on the tube.
Hey Vic, how's the smoking issue going? Still doing well? I hope so. Those things are engineered to be addictive, so I can imagine quitting them is very hard. Did you ever see the Russell Crow move "The Insider" (Pacino's last good role). You should read the book. Very enlightening.

Justin James (1986)

come on now you all know that you "had" to watch LW and Hee Haw! if not you may want to check you Sheridan card! same boat as you Mark 1 TV and heck i dont even remember the channel numbers its been so long i know one was 7 maybe 4 and 11? We had to watch what the old man watched between LW, Hee Haw and a Jacques Cousteau specials, oh and how can i for get Mutual of Omaha's WILD KINGDOM!! It did not leave much time for my tv viewing pleasures! Now days there are only one show that is must see TV for me, "24" which just started, i also watch Cold Case, the Unit, and some how i met your mother but not much else! My kids get the run of the TV unlike i did when i was a kid!

01/12/09 04:54 PM #1544

Steve Warmack (1987)

Cousteau specials and Mutual of Omaha's WILD KINGDOM made me who I am today.

and the Muppet Show.

Yeah, the 2 shows (other than the everyday ones) I really remember being special were Costeau and those old Victory at Sea WW2 specials they used to have on. I liked Costeau so much I liked John Denver's tribute song Calypso.
