I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it appears we've lost a fellow Jacket and the 86ers have lost a classmate. Tony Dixon lost his life in a motorcycle accident on Saturday. According to reports, it was the fault of the other driver. I don't know anything about his family life but I'm sure he's got some family and friends somewhere who will miss him dearly. Let's keep them in our prayers.

Also with this warmer weather there will be more bikes out so keep your eye out for them.

I just heard about Tony this morning. From what i understatnd he has a 17 year old son that was riding on another motorcycle with him and witnessed the whole thing. My prayers go out to Tony and his family.

Wow, I have a lot of memories of Tony. Primarily playing baseball. He was quite the athlete and he was also a United States Marine. Seems to be quite a run on us lately.

Several classmates have informed me of Tony's death. I'm keeping an eye out for an official obituary and then I'll post something in the In Memory section. My prayers are with his family.

Flash Trail might be a little before most of your times. It was the site of an infamous party. Those of you who know Brent Eggburn (1984) may know the story. I'll wait to see if Jody or any of the older guys remember. I can't recall all who were there.

The electric cowboy was a game room north of town, it is a flower shop now. And flash trail, boy do I remember. It was located off of roller coaster road.

Tony was in my first grade class. I think he was muscled up even then. I can remember going around the room and telling a little bit about ourselves and when it was Tony's turn he jumped down and starting doing pushups!

Roller Coaster Road!!!The pathway to many a party. Even thinking about Flash Trail I somehow didn't think of it.

Mark- do you remember why we called it Flash trail?

02/09/09 07:56 PM #1681

Mark Avant (1985)

Yep, that poor dead dog. And Brent being a little tipsy. I recall him picking it up and carrying it around. I guess Flash came about because of Roscoe's dog on the Dukes of Hazard.

Thats right buddy, ahh to be young and dumb again!

I just told Jaime the story and she thinks it's very gross. Didn't someone hit Brent in the head with that dog?

Jody Lowery (1986)

Theres no telling what we did with that poor old dog. There was lots of alcohol involved!

Can you imagine what we'd have done without those old IP roads? I imagine we'd all still be in jail.

As per the survey...can't I open the windows AND go fishin'?

I am letting everyone know that Tony Dixon (class of 86') was killed in a motorcycle accident in Hot Springs this past saturday. Please keep their family in your prayers. Also keep Jackie (McElroy) McGuire (class of 88) in your prayers as she tries to comfort her two children during the loss of their father. No arrangement have been posted as of yet. I will post them as soon as I know. Bridget

THE YEARBOOK PROJECT I'm in the midst of scanning and uploading all of the Sheridan yearbooks from 1976-1988 in what I'm calling the "Yearbook Project". I'm letting the Jacket-House know, since these years will span many different classes. I plan to post a new yearbook every couple of weeks (or as my schedule permits). You'll be able to view each yearbook, page by page, in a slideshow format, as well as have the option to download any page(s) you'd like. All for free. :) Currently I have 1976, 1977 & 1978 available for viewing. I hope you'll enjoy these & more to come. Click here to view the Yearbook Project.

Wow. No power for 15 days and there is so much to catch up on.
I was sorry to hear about Tony. Our house was about a mile from his when we were kids.

Hey cool video clip on the gamers Aaron! I totally missed my calling. If I would have just played Ms. Pac Man all day, everyday I would have been rich and famous. It is fun to remember the video "junkies". I remember this guy in college who was a "World Class Defender player" (tongue in cheek). He used to stack up so many extra ships, that he would go off and eat dinner for awhile while the aliens repeatedly destroyed him and then come back and replenish and eventually overheat the machine.

David if you're very very lucky, you open the windows and then fish...out the windows.
Chuck wow, I didn't have the patience to get that good at any video game. Or much else in the real world either. Very short attention span.
Back to what Jody and I were talking about. Every time I see the movie Dazed and Confused. I think of those weekends growing up. That movie is almost a carbon copy of one of our weekends. Many great scenes. This one would be a precursor to a trip to the Benton quarter. Surely everyone remembers that stretch of road. See Aaron it all comes back eventually.

You had to talk the talk.

Aaron Wilson (1988)

Oh yes... the Benton quarter... where Skeeter Flory wrecked his ride.

Only in Sheridan.

Jody Lowery (1986)

Aaron- I sure appreciate the Skeeter reference. Your right, only in Sheridan!
