I say this as serious as I can be, If things happened and went on today like they did when Coach Mac was running the show somebody would probably get arrested. I mean I seen things done to players and experienced some personally that you would just not believe.

Actually, Pam reminded me of it the other day. I believe I was already in East End with Scott Wallace and we met you guys up there. I believe if I recall correctly, Scott was all over you. Very mortifying. I think it had something to do with a skimpy bathing suit. :-)

I agree Jon Paul. I recall coach Gossett being particularly vindictive.

Robert- Thanks! I taught 6th grade English one year out of 15 and I swore never again. I couldn't deal with those kids. They were taller than me and everything was always my fault. They would never have their homework. Their excuse was I lost it. They had NO respect. At least with the little ones they still will tell you yes mam and no mam and use a little bit of manners. But, they are always a bundle of energy. I'm showing my age! LOL Noise and things use to bother me with them. I would want a "quiet" classroom. It doesn't bother me anymore. I guess in my old age (I'll be 40 in June!) I've learned to tune them out.

Mark- Really? I don't recall that. I'm going to have to call Pam tonight and find out all of that..... I don't remember ever having a "skimpy" bathing suit. The closest I had to one was one that zipped up the front. I was dating an East Ender at that time. (Won't mention any names....he might comment on it. LOL) He'll know who I am talking about. Wow. You've blown me away.

Ok Mark- Where did you go? Are you sure about all of that? I really don't remember that. Please tell me you are just kidding around with me. Tried to call Pam. I guess she's at work.

Crystal, Wayne Valentine, maybe? He was a big guy. I knew you guys called her Barlow but I never knew why. Cool story. Didn't you guys call her Matilda, also? Something having to do with Matilda Bay?

Speaking of wine coolers, I was looking for an old Matilda Bay commercial but found this instead. Vintage Bruce Willis and Sharon Stone.

Sorry Tammy, you have to realize "skimpy" was a relative term. Any bathing suit other that one of those they wore in the early 1900's would be skimpy to a teenage guy. And don't worry, you were fine. Scott was the classless one. I was teasing you about him being all over you. 'Kay?

Tammy Burns (Busch) (1987)

Ok. Mark I feel better now. You were freaking me out about that. Especially since I didn't really remember it. Little foggy. I do remember going there though. It's so weird how after it's been so long you forget many things. You are forgiven.

Tammy Burns (Busch) (1987)

Mark- Pam said you guys were thinking about coming back this way. Don't you miss Arkansas sometimes? I'm so glad Pam had you out there when she was going through all she did. Having you out there meant a lot to her. I'm glad she's doing ok. We met up in Sheridan in January and she went to my nephew's basketball game in Poyen with me. I don't think I had seen her since I was in her wedding to Eddie. It was kinda emotional! She looks so much like your mom now. She thinks a lot of you! (Even though you don't think so.)

I know back then I was kinda like a sterotypical big brother jerk. But I really thought of all of Pam's close friends as
kinda like little sisters. Ask Stacy Cunningham. I STILL have problems with her being all grown up and stuff.

I have a picture of Pam when we went to the lake. Mom and Dad took me, Louann Averitt, and Pam for my birthday to ski at Lake DeGray. Pam was sooo funny! By the time we finished, she was as red as a lobster! We all were suffering with sunburns after that. It was fun though. Those were the days......

Jody Lowery (1986)

You guys were talking about Coach Bailey, one day in drivers ed.I started off driving and I don't know if he had a late night the night before but he told me to just drive toward Leola, and as I did he fell asleep in the passenger side so I just kept on driving and when he woke up we were on the other side of Carthage! Well he woke up and freaked out, we had 10 mins. to get back to school! He told me to drive as fast as I as I could. Needless to say we didn't make it back in time so he wrote us all a note for class.

Hey Jody Lowery! That is too funny about Coach Bailey. I can truly believe that. He did own a liquor store in Fordyce or maybe Bearden ? Can't remember which one it is in. I think he still does. Hmmmm. Like I said, hope I don't ever run into him. Not my favorite person.

Mark Avant (1985)

I was lucky enough to have Coach Smith as a driver's ed instructor. We'd go to Prattsville and get a shake or malt at the Whippet drive in. Coach Bailey's liquor store was in Fordyce. Jody do you remember sneaking out for lunch one day and when we were coming back in one of the production crew catching us on video? I think we were in your big banana. Not exactly the sneakiest vehicle. What'd you do with that truck?

Does anyone from the class of '87 remember this? I found these last weekend. We participated in a contest for Zoo 98 (the radio station). We filled out all of these forms. Not sure who's house we were at. I was taking the pictures. Jimmy Choate, you were there, do you have any idea? I remember doing it and taking them to the radio station. I have more pictures showing us at the radio station. What memories.... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Jimmy Choate (1987)

It was a contest put on by 'The Uglies'. They were a husband and wife DJ crew with a face for radio.

The pics were at Seth Lowery's house. We won the contest. If I recall correctly, Mills High School was our closest competitor. We were arch enemies at the time.

We won a school dance hosted by 'The Uglies'. I heard that it was great fun. I did not attend.

By the way, it appears that there were eight guys there and only two of you gals....Story of my life....*sigh*

Chuck Schwartz (1985)

Hmm, looks like Seth, Bryan Gartman, Marcus Pitcock, Greg ? (He was a powerlifter), Jimmy Choate, Leeann Smoot? and is that Clay Hooten? Vintage pics! I remember Seth Lowery well. We did a science symposium in my Senior year in which he presented. He was head and shoulders above all of us with a presentation on some theoretical math-"Spyrolaterals". I think my mouth was open and gaping during his entire speech. At least I remember the subject! Anyway, I found out during this trip that he was an extremely cool dude! I also remember that Sandi Lancaster was a bit mischievious because she prank called our room and posed as a pizza delivery girl a multitude of times. Clay was a running buddy of mine for a couple years and a good friend. We basically began our running together, went to dozens of road races together and kinda figured out how to get faster. Steve Warmack told me that Clay was a band director in Russellville at this point. Very cool! Thanks for the photo Tammy!

That photo jogs some additional memories and don't roll your eyes please! 1984-1985 I spent the year being exempted from study hall with permission from Sam King and a personal guarantee from Coach Tiner and Coach Tadlock that we would lift weights during 4th hour. Myself, Juan Capel, John Williams and a couple other guys got the run of the weightroom during 4th period for an entire school year and we actually worked out. I also got to run on the track anytime during 4th or lunch. I creatively expanded my runs until I was actually running through town. It was great until I ran into Mr. King in the middle of town. Believe it or not, he told me to "keep up the good work" and drove away. I breathed again and finished out the run. Those weight room sessions were great with Juan and John. (kinda funny if you are a language major) we listened to Morris Day and the Time over and over again- "Jungle Love" and worked out. I always really liked those two guys and I especially felt for John because of his brother Alan. I really, really liked Alan and I missed him that year. A good memory.

I was pretty good friends with Alan also. What a loss. I think of him from time to time even now.He was this big nice doofus. We had tickets to the Scorpions. And he died a week or so before the concert.
I wasn't gonna go, but his mom made me and I gave his ticket to Jerry Mills. That was the infamous show in which the opening act, Ratt I believe it was, and their lead singer wasted 10 minutes or so just screaming at the front row to "Get the f*** back!" They sucked. The Scorpions did not. Woulda been a much better show with Alan.

I do remember now....Jimmy, I don't know why it was just me and LeAnn there with all of you guys. I think I took these toward the very end. I think we were the only ones left after all that work. I do remember we just barely made it up there to get them all turned in. Wow! Those were the days!!!!

Vicki Ausbrooks (Shaw) (1988)

Tammy, thanks so much for the vintage pics!!! Clay always looked so serious...I mean, c'mon, how can anybody look serious wearing that??? LOL!

The Greg is Greg Ellis. And I see Marcus Pitcock there! Loved Marcus! Back in school, he never failed to have a hug ready for his friends. He needs to sign up on here!

Alan Williams...SUCH a nice guy. His untimely death rocked us all. Anybody know what John is up to these days? He was missed at the 88 reunion.

Vic, do you think Clay uses Nair. I don't wanna look that closely.
