So let me get this straight. The first person to say "Christmas Eve Gift" would get to open one on Christmas Eve? What are the rules? Someone had to instigate the conversation first before you could say it?

Hey Richard and anyone else on here, we are planning a get together for Dec 27. Let me know if you are in. The where and when has yet to be decided but probably early evening at a place that serves alcohol but is also kid friendly.

Hey Richard,

Are you still alive? I know school is about over.

The censor has struck again. I guess I better stay over here so I don't have to hunt anybody down and beat them.

Hey, If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy shit! Where's the Tylenol?

David -
And by the way - the "Christmas Eve Gift" thing at our house it's just to see who can say it first to the others. I have even gotten up and called my dad at 4:00 in the morning.

"Holier than thou" I have used that phrase for the person. I thought I would put the Christmas Vacation rant up here because:

1. It's funny as hell.
2. I CAN!!! hahahahaha!

Richard, I tried to call you back on Sat. Phone tag I guess. How was the party? We had friends over to watch, you guessed it, Christmas Vacation. Do it every year.

OK here's a thought!! In school everybody hung out in there little groups and usually didn't stray far if they did at all!! I feel Like I missed out on a lot of good potential friendships!! If only we could go back and change something.... But that is what makes us unique and defined us as individuals!! I knew everyone a little and only a few people really well!! I am trying to instill this in my children that you are only young once and there are so many people you need to at least get to know a little better than their names!!

Here is my question:

Who in school would you like to have gotten better acquainted with?

Looking back There are many I wished I would have taken the time to got to know better!! They probably didn't want to know me though! lol
One is Mathew Adkins. I remember he used to play the piano and I was always in awe!!! I wish I would have learned how to play!!
Another is Vicki Ausbrooks!! She is now my official BFF but I have never met her!! lol

Hmmm? I would have liked to have gotten to know Robert Welch better. Apparently he has a very similar sense of humor to my own from his posts on here. Kelly Sites too. She and I never had a conversation in High School.

Everybody tell David Herbert Happy Birthday today. Let him know he is a special, special guy.

Robert Welch (1989)

You wouldn't want to know Robert Welch better, David. I hear he's an asshole. His wife told me that about him just today.

Anyway, I would have liked to have gotten to know a lot of people better. There are a lot of people who I just stopped talking to in high school that I wish I had kept hanging out with.

I think we as kids let our differences pull us apart rather than see that it takes all kinds to make the world go round. My daughter was all up set about some of her friends were getting to be popular kids and pulling away from there group. I told her to just set back and look at who they were becoming and see that they were jerks and why would she want to be apart of that. I guess that was the wrong thing to do but there's alot of truth to it. I know i was a jerk to alot of you in school just thinking i was to cool. I got along with most all the groups but i do regret the way i treated some poeple back in school.

Chris, you were such a pussycat in school How could you have been mean to anyone?

Robert - Yeah your wife told me that too. LOL!!!

12/22/08 09:11 PM #375

Melody Gartman (Lucas) (1989)

I really hope I was not mean to anyone in school! I loved Sheridan! I once again will not be making Christmas to the Gartman home. It seems as though I will always be the black sheep in their eyes:( Jamie, I am not grouping you in with my retarded siblings. I have learned you can make friends anywhere you go.I have had to do so being that I have not been home in 6 years. I have moved with my husbands profession too many times. Now that Elizabeth is getting older I hope we do not have to move anymore! Sheridan High was and always will be family! I was devastated leaving Junior year:( That has always haunted me.I hope at some point I can find peace with the family who raised me. I have found family through friends and Buzz's side as well.I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Enjoy the family you have!It is not worth it to feel rejected or unwanted by your own family. Put your differences a side. God bless.

I would not continue to beat myself up over ANYONE who didn't want me around. It will just continue to drag you down. I think I would have to cut ties (family or not) and move on with my life. Let go of the baggage (the feeling you need someone else's approval) and live for what you DO have.

Stacy Cunningham (Gilbert) (1989)

Hi everyone! I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! I also wanted to say that I am looking forward to seeing everyone in the New Year. I have enjoyed so much getting to "visit" with all of you again. The reunion is going to be a blast!
Chris, I know what you mean. I think we all have regrets from High School of one kind or another. That's what makes us human and better parents! While I felt that my parents were dang near perfect...and they were/are...I want my children to know that it's okay to screw up every once in awhile. We learn the most from our mistakes. I think that's what I enjoy about reuniting with you all...to see that we all go through the same things.
Melody, Merry Christmas! You have a beautiful daughter and a your own sweet family. I couldn't agree more with what David said. (what? I'm agreeing with David? It's a Christmas Miracle!!!;-) j/k Twin!)
