Garth Benson

Garth Benson 1/19/61 – 12/23/84

Garth Nicolas Benson, 23, who worked as a surveyor for Zond Corporation in Evanston, died Sunday in Evanston.

He was born January 19, 1961, in Laramie, a son of Gary and Betty Stanford Benson.  He was a graduate of Sheridan High School.  He enjoyed cross country skiing, kayaking, mountain climbing and soccer.  He was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Survivors include his father, Gary, Story; two sisters, Elizabeth Benson, Duluth, Minn., and Mary Benson, Laramie; grandparents, Mrs. Irma Benson, Laramie, and Mr. Nathan Stanfield, Webb City, MO.

Memorial service 11 am Thursday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Ray Clark officiating.

Memorials may benefit Fellowship Christian Athletes at Sheridan High School in care of Coach Craig Hougen.

Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Garth was a great guy I only have fond memories most were from wrestling and George Legerski and I were both envious of his ripped muscles? I think George's Mom Vicki even did a painting of Garth with his shirt off?
We still have his good spirit as a shining light.

was there any guy in our class hotter than Garth?? :) the few times I spoke to him I was impressed with what a NICE individual he was!!!

I thought Garth was awesome! We were in photography class together in College and we had a few laughs while in class! He will surely be missed by all!
