Irene L. Schlattman

Long-time resident Irene Lillian Schlattman 79, died Saturday, May 13, 2000.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, at Kane Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Wilson officiating.

Miss Schlattman was born June 6, 1920, in Moorcroft to Fred Ernest and Ora Mildred Fox Schlattman. Her family moved to the Sheridan area when she was young, and she attended Murphy Gulch School and Central School and graduated Sheridan High School.

She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Northern Iowa and master's degree from the University of Wyoming.  She taught physical education in Prineville, Ore., from 1944-46, in Osaga, Iowa, from 1946-53, and at Sheridan High School from 1953-79.

She enjoyed photography, leatherwork, cabinetry, carpentry, gardening, fishing, horseback riding, bowling and cooking.  She was a member of the National Education Association and the Wyoming Education Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Allred, and uncle, Park Fox, both of Sheridan; two nephews; and numerous cousins.
