SHERMAN - Duane Martin Davis, 60, of Sherman passed away on March 9, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Dallas.

He was born on Dec. 11, 1948, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Eugene Howard Davis and Jeanette Heatley Davis. After graduating from high school, he joined and served in the U.S. Air Force. He married Deborah Odum on June 12, 1971 in Sherman.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Davis of Sherman; two sons, Chad Wayne Davis and Craig Martin Davis and wife Stacy both of Sherman; a granddaughter that was the apple of Grandpa's eye, Skylar Danielle Davis, sister-in-law, Lory Schulz of Sherman and Kim McLellan and husband David of Alabama, brother-in-law, Rickey Odum of Sherman; mother-in-law, Betty Odum of Sherman. Duane is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Eugene Howard Davis Jr.

A memorial Family Night will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.

Private family graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
