Kathleen Hudgins (Beale)

Kathleen died on 8/15/2001 after battling lung cancer.

SHERMAN - Funeral services for Kathleen Hudgins Beale will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2001, at First United Methodist Church of Sherman.  Kathleen died at home Tuesday evening, August 15, 2001, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

The Reverend John Bethany of Houston, former Associate Pastor of Fairview Baptist Church, will conduct the services. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Crump, Tom Crump, Rod Liddicoat, Roy Osborne Jr., Jon Jordan and Buck Barker.

Kathleen was born February 2, 1951, in Midland, Texas, the daughter of Tom and Ruth Wilder Hudgins. She graduated in the class of 1968 from Sherman High School.  She married Chris Beale in Sherman on July 27, 1973. They were the parents of two sons, Chad Beale of Plano and Adam Beale of Sherman.

Kathleen was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Sherman B&PW, and the Sherman Altrusa Club. She was a past board member of the Red River Historical Museum.

Chris & Kathleen bought Wayside Florist from Bud and Frances Beale upon their retirement. Kathleen loved sending flowers during times of happiness and sadness. She has a love of life that extended to all her friends and customers. She and Chris worked side by side in the business for 25 years.

Kathleen had a large collection of angels and looked forward to the day God's angels would come for her.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Chris; sons, Chad and his wife, Edy of Plano and Adam of Sherman; mother, Ruth Hudgins of Sherman; brother, Tom Hudgins Jr. of North Richland HIlls, Harry Hudgins of Sherman and Bruce Hudgins of Plano; sisters, Joey Jordan and Ruth Ann Pilkilton, both of Sherman; brother-in-law, Jim Beale and his wife, LaJean of Plano; father-in-law, Bud Beale of Sherman; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Hudgins and her mother-in-law, Francis Beale.

The family would like to express thanks to Home Hospice for their benevolence and care. Special gratitude is extended to Kathy Barnes, Myrtle Reid and Carol Murray, whom Kathleen grew to love as they took care of her during her last days.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Home Hospice in remembrance of Kathleen.

The family will recieve friends at Waldo Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 8 p.m., and other times at the family residence.

Kathleen's friends will always remember her smile and sweet spirit.
