Paul Sample

Paul died suddenly while a student at University of California at San Diego. 

Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Hopkins Chapel of First United Methodist Church for Paul M. Sample, 24, of 1802 W. Scott St.  He died suddenly Saturday at San Diego, Calif., where he was to enroll as a student in the University of California at San Diego.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Ed Blythe, of First United Methodist Church with burial at West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.  A funeral home spokesman attributed death to natural causes.

Mr. Sample was born at McAllen, son of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Sample.  He was a 1968 graduate of Sherman High School, attended Austin College from 1968 to 1970 and was a veteran of the Vietnam war serving two years in the U.S. Navy.  He had served as vice-president of the Grayson County Young Democratic Party.

Survivors are his parents; brother, James P Sample; a sister, Mrs. Cheryl A. White and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald G. Jones, all of Sherman, and Mrs. Hart D. Sample of Ravenna.

Pallbearers will be Julien Devereux, Mark Connelly, Andy Williams, Jimmy Mitchell, Mike Smith and Grady Sample.

The family will be at the residencem 1802 W. Scott.
