Richard died on 4/29/2001 after battling cancer.

POTTSBORO - Richard E. Pressley, 51-year old Pottsboro resident, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.

Services will be help at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 in Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel.  The Rev. Hugh C. Davis will officiate and Darrin Skinner will deliver the eulogy.  Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery.

Mr. Pressley was born on November 7, 1949, in Sherman, Texas, the son of Richard and Wapolee Knight Pressley.  He graduated from Sherman High School in 1968, and attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. 

He married Linda Jo Miller on Feb. 20, 1970,in Sherman, Texas.

Mr. Pressley retired from GTE (Verizon) as a switching technician in 2000, after 30 years of service.  He was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Darrin Skinner, Ernest Pressley Jr., Brian Agee, David Pineda, Jason Pearson and Roger Williams.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Jo Pressley of Pottsboro; son and daughter-in-law, Derek E. and Misty Pressley of Frisco, Texas and son, Warren (Matt) Pressley of Pottsboro, Texas; daughter, Lenora J. Pressley of Pottsboro, Texas; brother, Ernest Pressley of Sherman, Texas; sisters, Linda Skinner and Alice Agee, both of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Nathaniel E. Pressley and Hannah A. Pressley, both of Frisco, Texas and Ethan M. Valdez of Pottsboro, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother; Billy Wayne Veazey.

The family will be at Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and other times, at the residence, and at 122 S. Holly in Sherman.
