Phil, I had the thought that I might have missremembered whether it was you or Steve that we talked to. As a twin who also got this all the time I should have done better. Forgive me. It was a pleasure sharing a laugh about all this twin history with you that night and let me state again how sorry I am to hear you have lost your closest friend in life. Chris
Dear Phil, the news of Steve's death has just reached me today. Carla, my twin sister was told the news by Trent and upon hearing, she immediately called me. It was shocking to hear. We both lived not far from the Jones house in Lake Forest Park and of course each shared classes with Steve and you throughout grade school. I'd like to share with you that your brother joked with us when we saw him at the 50th reunion. He brought up the often suggested idea that because we were both twins, our classmates teased that all of us become couples. We of course heard the same thing and that's why we rarely spoke much in school. We avoided being seen with you two. It was a good laugh. Know that we do understand how hard this is. So sorry, Chris Anderson

OOPS HIT THE WRONG BUTTON AND LOST THE STORY I WAS WRITING ABOUT Mark and I PLAYING GUITARS TOGETHER AT MY PARENT'S HOUSEIN ABOUT 1971 or 2. The plot was: My POOR PARENTS WERE UNDERWHELMED WITH Mark's and my playing, BY THE LOOKS ON THEIR FACES, So we put the the two acoustic guitars back in their cases and excused ourselves, going back downstairs. Folks, it's probably best that I lost the already written words because I was kind of dragging the story out a bit, know what I mean?
R.I.P Mark, you were a very enjoyable friend back then,
Doug Smithfield
