This, along with Cookie, breaks my heart.  I, too, was looking forward to seeing Joann at the reunion next year and especially to see what she was wearing because she was always styling.  Sending hugs and support to her family.  --Laurie

So shocked and saddened to hear about JoAnn's passing. We had such a nice chat at the last reunion - reminiscing about Sligo and Northwood (and, of course, a couple parties at her house). She always brought laughter to a room! RIP JoAnn and Condolences to your family.

I was so stunned to read about JoAnn, as we were childhood pals from Forest Grove as well as Sligo.  Spending many an afternoon in her kitchen after school as well as the crazy parties in her house brought back a flood of memories. Pulling out some photos of JoAnn, Patti Townsend and myself dressed up in silly outfits I, too was hoping to see her at the 50th and hope to laugh together at these long lost treasures.  We did have many wonderful times together so many years ago. Very sad indeed.

At our 40th reunion JoAnn embraced me with a genuine warmth of hugs while sweetly saying that our reuniting is deeply meaningful as she and I,  as well as Patti and Madelyn,  we were all buddies who shared many wonderful childhood experiences together during our Forest Grove Elementary school days. I remember my beloved Dad driving JoAnn & I to visit Patti at Chesapeake Beach house when we were youngsters around age 11... those photos I have are precious. And I treasure, as well, the photos of JoAnn at my 13th and 16th birthday parties. This deceased notification hits hard, very sad. I have always held dear to my heart the superb childhood memories of JoAnn. Sincere condolences to all family and friends of sweet gal JoAnn.  Barbara (Cohen) Plattner   12/03/2019

Words can't express how heartbroken I have been since I heard of Jo's passing. Joann was my first crush at Forrest Grove. I went on my first date in fifth grade with Jo. My Mom drove us to the theater and we saw The Raven. I even gave her a friendship ring that I bought at Peoples drug. When we broke up and I went to her house on Saxony drive to get my ring back she told me that she lost it. She claimed it went into a hole on her front steps. I never bought that story but we always had a laugh about it. She had a great sense of humor and she will be missed by all of us!

Joann I'm so sad to hear of your passing. Some of my fondest memories are from Jr High when we all hung out. My prayers are with you and your family.
Rest in Peace my friend.
