A Tribute from
The Class of 1965 Reunion Committee

Ginny Foley Morris
6/16/47-1/10/15

Our fellow classmate and dear friend, Ginny Foley Morris, who spearheaded every reunion of the Class of '65, died this past weekend from a recurrence of breast cancer. The Class of '65 Reunion Committee asked Ginny's close friend and co-chair of many past reunions, Susie Beers Clark, to prepare the following tribute to Ginny.  We are grateful to Susie for having expressed our feelings so beautifully.

Truly a woman of substance, Ginny was the embodiment of intelligence, humor, determination, dedication, and a zest for life.

She was the inspiration and backbone of our reunion committee, from our first 10-year reunion to our upcoming 50-year reunion in October of this year.  Ginny always knew how to keep us on task when we got sidetracked discussing our personal lives, doctor visits or just a funny story.  She truly had mastered the art of "herding cats," and we counted on her for that.

Ginny was loving and real.  She was a wonderful mother to her three children and laid a strong foundation for them.  Her beautiful spirit will live on through them and her two precious granddaughters.

During her illness, two things kept her going:  her children and hope.  Now our hope is that she rest in peace, knowing she did all that she could to be a positive influence on the world around her.

Ginny will be in our hearts forever.

Ginny was a wonderful photographer and years ago she starting sending out Christmas cards with pictures that captured the moment. On my bookcase is a card she sent me in 1997.  I look at it each and everyday and it is a wonderful reminder of her--her spirit and creativity are with me each and everyday.  I will miss her and my thoughts and prayers are with your family now.  Ginny will always be with us.

I got to know Ginny by working with my husband John (JT) on the Montgomery Blair 40th Reunion.  She was one of the sweetest and friendliest people I have ever known.  About three years ago she sent us a box of note cards with photos she had taken on each one.  We have never used them because we wanted to keep her photos as a reminder of her.  We are so glad we have her photos and will keep them forever as a wonderful memory of a gentle, beautiful friend.

Ginny was the glue that kept our Reunion Committee, as well as other Blair Buddies, together through the years and the miles. Those of us who saw her in October at the Strathmore will treasure the last memory of our dear friend. We will continue to bond as a group and will raise a glass in Ginny' s honor/memory at our Reunion.
