Attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music (Baltimore, MD) with full, four year scholarship and studied with internationally known concert pianist, Leon Fleisher. Received Bachelors and Masters Degree in Piano Performance.
Married Allen J. Goldberg (Blair '64) in 1969 and we have two girls, Emily and Sarah.
My career has taken many turns - as performer, teacher, mentor.
Won 1st Prize in the Washington International Competition for Piano, the Jordan Piano Award, MTNA State and Eastern Division of the HS Piano Award; Semi-finalist in the first William Kapell International Competition for Piano. Presented the Alexander Sklarevski Award and WBAL Achievement Award and full Scholarship at the Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA. for summer study with Mr. Fleisher.
Served as Competition Chair of the 2014 Washington International Competition for Pianists. Am giving a benefit recital in April for this organization.
Have performed around the world, including Sweden and Bangkok and, in the USA up and down the east coast. Recitals locally include at the National Gallery of Art, Cosmos Club, Phillips Collection, American University, Textile Museum, etc.
Give Master Classes around US and at Shanghai Conservatory of Music. In US: Levine School of Music, McDaniel College, and in Cherry Hill, New Jersey and Memphis, Tenn.
Member of the piano faculty of Levine School of Music for 22 years. Continue as an independent teacher, guiding and coaching talented students plus giving recital lectures to teacher organizations in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio.
Have served as president of several different music organizations and remain on the board of the Friday Morning Music Club, Washington Music Teachers Association, Maryland MTA, Montgomery County MTA and Mu Phi Epsilon International Music Fraternity.
